It's no Mezger but more than good enough for the job. Most popular classes are rarely (never?) built on top of platforms that break and lose people weekends all the time, regardless of cost. You're pissing against the market wind.

I raced a loaner SPB at Summit Point this year... that wont happen again.
Lack of LSD was frustrating. I get the cheap part. But damn these are ugly cars.

Quad - sorry your experience has been different, but in my ~75 hours or so of driving a SPB I have had no motor issues. Fortunately that experience is shared with the front of the pack in all regions in the US.
How do you know how many motors people have replaced?

How many spb races have you run in? 5? The motor is junk.

Not sure if you are trolling or want help understanding the car and series.

If the latter feel free to pm me and I'm happy to tell you more.

Those are the two rules I live by when it comes to racing.

I've blown a motor on my 986 at DE. I'm not trolling and I'm very well familiar with the car. OP, if you consider a SPB, do some research on the M96. Great thread by Chris Cervelli regarding oil starvation.

That settles it then. Let's cancel SPB class and take all 986/996 cars to the junkyard.

nobody suggested that. The 986 is a great platform and its a fun car to drive on track. But the OP should go into it eyes open.

If any of you are wondering why the problems with the M96/M97 engine have not been solved in the aftermarket, here is your answer.

Luckily, mine doesn't really want to know but she knows enough to laugh at those numbers.

Re-scale that graph to normal limits and post it again, please. 0 psi low scale, 60 psi high scale.

If someone doesn't know what they're looking at in your screengrab, it looks worse than it is. Your scale is 1.8 psi low to high...

Fake news... Fix it, please.
