Yeah...8hrs isn't bad unless the track is so busy you have to pit in the grass especially if rain is in the forecast. I don't like mid-O in the rain. The asphalt paddock facility is pretty dilapidated as are the garages. I have only been there twice and had garages both times. The little birds and animals run the rafters and cr@p on you and your car. The loud engines do not scare them away.

Definitely worth the pull, it is a great technical track with lots to learn.

It's worth the 9.5 hr tow for me.

I've sought added value by leaving the rig there for 4-6 weeks, flying in and out of Columbus.

Using the above methodology, I've done up to 4 events per year back to back.

As a bonus, the MidOhio Region PCA is a truly fine bunch of folks.

Be warned!! In rain, the surface is as treacherous as black ice.

The rain is Russian roulette. If it rains, my car stays in the paddock. Big expense to stand around in the rain. Hence September October is highest probability for dry events. ARPCA and NORPCA have September events

At Mid-O, once you get off the back straight you're almost always turning until you hit the front straight. And even the back straight has a kink in it, which can be fun in the wet as I once found out I never steered so much in 5 seconds in my entire life!

Mid-O gives you plenty of time to rest. IMO the no break 100% attention track is Sonoma.

Find a 3-day event to make the tow worthwhile. Mid-O is a very technical track so you're just scratching the surface of respectable lap times on the 2nd day.

agree.
MORPCA has a three day event in September

Mid O pro course (without chicane) gives you time breathe, with chicane keeps you very busy

I’ve been contemplating the 8-hr drive myself for a couple of years. Now I’ll definitely do it!

Even in a corvette the back straight seems like forever...after the keyhole it is a long way until China beach.

Fully recommend running with ARPCA in September. A well organized event.

It's about a 8-9hr tow for me, and totally worth it.
