Hawk, PFC or Pagid - What do you use?
Since we started NaroEscape Motorsports last year, it's been interesting to see what people like/dislike for brakes. We sell all three brands, (HERE) but I'm curious what the crowd hear uses and on what car.
We use Hawk DTC-70 front, HT-10 rear on our two 914 race cars at the moment.
Others?

Ive probably used them all, at least all the brands. Ive liked the PFC11s, and just behind them, the pagid back RS14s. (good luck with the HT10s and HT14s hawks as well as DTC70s)
personally, stay away from the endurance pads unless you are actually doing an enduro, or need better life from a pad with dual street and track use.

I've used Hawk for many years when I had 944's (DTC70's front, 60's rear). Had planned on running that combo with the new SPB car, but they don't make them currently (they do make 70's for the rear and 60's for the front). So instead, I'm running 60's front and blues in the rear.

When did you start driving a Boxster? Did you get rid of the 944?

Full on track car, PFC 01s probably the best track pad I've used but they wore down quick and were very harsh on rotors. However, their bite and consistent stopping power, very confidence inspiring taking turns deeper and deeper.
If just DE'ing the season, found Pagids to work well and last a decent amt of time without obliterating my rotors.

On the 993!and 964 used Pagid yellow 29 and blacks at different times and combos. Just getting back to the track after a couple year brake and am trying PFC08s on the 997.
Pagid - really likes them when bedded properly, but they are difficult to bed properly - had an issue one weekend at Watkins and it messed with my whole weekend. The bite was pretty good on the 29s and more on the blacks. Release was also pretty smooth.
PFC - jury is still out - 1 track day on them, so can’t really comment at this time.

It seems to depend on the wheels. Personally we ran Blues forever on our race car and had no issues - yes, lots of dust but came off pretty easy. Then used them on our street/track car with aftermarket painted wheels and even dry, it etched into the paint and never came off. Moved to DTC-70/HT-10 when the car got faster and never had a problem on any wheels. Most SCCA guys we sell to love Blue's and have no issues with dust. So mixed messages.

Your last line there makes me happy. I've been a Carbotech fan for many years. On the WRX I used to own I used their old Bobcat pad (1521 now?) for daily driving and their AX6 for autocross. When I went to track days I swapped in a set of XP10's in front and XP8's in the rear. In my experience they are relatively rotor-friendly and brake dust is much easier to clean off than Hawk. No issues with fade or wear on a car which had a horrid weight distribution and very poor brake cooling. Front brakes were at least upgraded to Stoptech ST40's with 332mm rotors at the time. I wanted to use Carbotech pads on the Porsche, but they don't (or at least didn't at the time) list a rear pad shape for my car / caliper.
I'd be willing to give PFC a try, but I won't touch Hawk again. I'm sure their track compounds are different and better, but using their street and autocross pads I was never happy with performance. Inane levels of dust from what felt like a low mu, low bite, over-priced pile of crap. Carbotech has been stellar in my experience, and the Pagid yellows have been impressive thus far. I have no reason to give Hawk another chance.
