I had a conversation with the folks at COTA and they are serious about getting the surface back to their standards. They have been running vacuum trucks daily and that has helped a lot. More to be done and I am expecting more information in the next day or so.

NASA is racing there this weekend- I'm sure we will hear some feedback. I'll be there in Sept for the NASA Championships.

It should rain a ton in the next 36 hours as well which will help. And ya NASA is running a ton of cars Friday Saturday and Sunday. Ill be there this weekend, hopefully the rain doesn't make the track too green for lap record attempts on Sunday.

I'll believe the rain when I see it. So far this year every predicted storm had been a dud. Hence the extreme drought we now have

COTA really should issue a refund for the Chin event. I parked my car after only one session and my windshield, lights, and paint still took a beating. Passing off line reminded me of my BMX racing days it was so full of gravel! The conditions on the go kart track were much better!

Did anybody go to Speed Ventures at COTA? From an on board video I saw it looked much much better than it was at Chin.

Not being there it is hard to fathom conditions that bad. It sounds like you guys were driving on gravel.

Shame you can't send them a bill for damages -- You know you'd get one if you damaged their track :-)

Offline down the back straight passing, we were throwing rooster tails of gravel up like an offshore powerboat! Offline through the esses and carousel were downright dangerous there was so much crap.
