They should know better.
Cheaper wouldn't have made it better. They should have done what was necessary to get the grit and gravel off the track. I think they should have been running vacuum trucks as they ground the track. Of course they only have damage to their reputation not to their vehicles.

Given that the surface is getting bumpy and incidents like this, it's getting hard to justify a $1500-$2000 track weekend at COTA.

you can....park in a garage where Lewis Hamilton probably peed.....not in his suit, but in an actual toilet.

Now that is funny. I had my car on track at the November Schnellfest last fall and was excited about going back to the 1-3 June event. I was registered within the first 2 minutes last week when it opened up. But I canceled my registration today. I did have a 3-week business trip to Italy pop up yesterday that has me out of the country over the Schnellfest weekend, so that was a factor, but I was seriously considering canceling as more days passed with no sign of anything serious being done to address the issues. I sent an email to the DE registrar on Saturday asking if they'd heard about the problem and if they were aware of any plan to address it before 1 June, but as of tonight, no reply.

"The American", Mike Skinner, said the bumps give the track character and real drivers like having to figure it out. He said he love Sebring for that reason..... SNB, when did you ever pay $1500 for a weekend at COTA? ;-)

You all know the price isn't going down., at least not until they lose F1 and MotoGP and go through Chapter 11.

Bumps don't bother me. Having my car sandblasted and paying for it bothers me. A lot.

The track will be fine by the time the June event rolls around. It was considerably better on Sunday versus Saturday. I think COTA should have done more in advance of the Chin event and MotoGP. The track gets a lot of use and every day there are hot sticky tires on track it gets better.

I'll pick up a Chin event or some other event there after I see consistent reports that the track is back to normal as far as sandblasting my car goes. Bumps are what they are and what they will be.

Ferrari is running corsa pilota prior to the June event, so, hopefully if its not already blown away, washed off etc, they can at least bring enough clout to get it cleaned up.
