Steve, Nope I retired. Car is being driven by Andrew Eagan. I am flying Tom Brennan the original driver and builder and his wife out for the entire weekend. Really looking forward to it. Stop by and say hi.

Getting closer. Gold trim has been put around numbers and original crew names added. They changed our number from the original 54 to 154 . The number one is magnetic . All we need now is Porsche + Audi added to the hood and we are about ready for a test day.

Rob you don't miss a trick (must be the lawyer in you coming out.). I put that Allegheny Region logo on the car when I bought it from the Braumlichs in 1994. Going to try and leave it on for Rennsport.
Car is going on the transporter on FRiday. I will put some more pics out tomorrow.

FRank,
Some day I will find a picture of what the car looked like when I bought it. It looked like a 944 not a 924. IT was painted Lawn Boy GReen. MY good friend Noel Hall from Timonium Md did a fantastic job with the chassis. He took the entire car apart
and it was blasted then sealed then primed and painted. I bought the 924 fenders from GT Racing who has all the molds for these cars. I got many of the other front end pieces with the car. The car now is in better shape chassis wise than when it was raced in the 80s. Noel had the car for 7 years. He brought it back to our shop in Feb-March 2017.
Noel Hall is like MacGyver...there is nothing that this guy can't repair or engineer. He is the friend that everyone wishes they had. Where did I meet him....the place all good looking smart people hang out at the weekend....at the track of course.
I was having problems with my 968 shifter at Beaver Run and he pitched in to help me. That might have been in 2004. WE have been good friends ever since.
The electrical and mechanics needed installed. Rather than procrastinate I gave the car to Andrew Eagan who was working for Bob Woodman. I had known him from all the races and track events. I liked the kid and he knew what he was doing.
Ironically he bid on and won the Tom Brennan 1981 factory Race poster at the 48Hrs Silent Auction in Sebring in 2017. I had donated the poster. I explained that I owned the car on the poster and I don't think it sunk in.
When he showed up at our business to pick up the chassis he realized that it was the car on the POster and he started to get excited about being part of the restoration. THe kid has done a wonderful job. All marking on the car are exactly what they were on the poster. He had to rebuild the motor and get the oiling and electricals straight.
The one down side of the car was I could never find the VIN number. I had the original log book. The vin was stamped on the top of the passenger side strut tower. Tom Brennan told me he had replaced the strut towers. So I never looked real hard. Ironically another one of these cars (they only made 16) showed up at his shop. The owner Chas Coker showed him where the VIN number was on his car. Next thing I know I get a call saying I found your VIN. I told him he was nuts that I had owned the car for 24 years and never find the number. Guess what he was right he did find the VIN. Shortly after that both Coker and I applied for Rennsport Raeunion. When I said apply I mean it is an application that basically says don't call us we will call you if you are selected. Fortunately we both got accepted.
Andrews big reward is he will drive the car at Laguna Seca in Race Group 4. Think Patrick Long is driving a 935 in the same group.

Great history, Clark. I know Noel as well, he did some work for me on my 944S2 race car.
I'll be looking out for you at Rennsport (although not there), and wish you great luck with the car.
Of course, if you ever need a pilot again, I"m pretty good with those cars......

Bob,
No damage at all. What a hoax. Talk about fake news. I spent $2000 to have my house boarded up and I boarded up our business myself. THen I hooked up to the trailer and we went to the Best Western in Daytona. WE came back Sunday.
