Default Rate tire lap time estimate

Here are the parameters.

With a fastest lap time on given tire being 1.00.00 (one minute) around a virtual track

Assuming all tires same dimension in section and tread width.

How would you rank these tires...?

Example

Hoosier R7 @ 1.00.00
Toyo RR @ 1.01.00 (1 second behind the R7)
BFG R1 @ 1.01.500 (1.5 sec behind R7)
Hankook C71 @ 1.02.00 (2 sec behind R7)

We have run all of these except the Toyo but have run the Ra1 and 888.

General concensus is that the NT01's are usually 2 seconds behind the Hoo's.

I used two sets of TOYO RR's two seasons ago in order to save money over the price of Hoosier R7's and they were consistently 2 seconds
slower than the Hoosiers , and i also scared myself a few too many times pushing hard to keep up with all the Hoosier runners !

For your 944 , stick to the R7's ...

Look at Hankook C51, not C71. It is a lot more comparable to the R7

C71 is the ultra soft correct? Got a set of those once and destroyed them in 20 minutes. C51 I have had within .5 of the R7. Actually really liked them, it was the supply issues that killed me. $/lap time=total value definitely favored the Hankook. On my car it was basically buy two sets of Hankook get one free compared to Hoosier pricing.

RR's are definitely slower then R7 (1-2 sec) and BFG (1 sec). I, like VR, have run the Hankook C51's with great luck and with good longevity.

R7, Kook, BFG, RR

R7, Kook, BFG, RR
It's a good thing the "PCA Driver Meeting Information Absorption' committee didn't send me here as an undercover test spy.

Format,

1 @ 1.00.xx
2.
3.
4.

Tim, you get the driver's award banquet ribbon with metal for closest but no cigar.... for your entry of

R7 1.00.00
Kook (maybe)
BFG (-1 sec)
RR (-1.2 sec)

Was really looking for feedback on the Toyo but I guess this answers it.
We ran the Hankook and stayed with it for a good while, track records at TWS, EC, Hallet, come to think of it, all my son's records may be on Hankook.
When the Toyo came out, the SP1 guys swore by them and said they were better.

It's the only tire I listed that we have never tried.

Thanks for saving us $1200 to find out...,

Just make sure that you buy a years worth of the kooks, otherwise you will need them and none are available.

It was the supply that got me away from them to begin with. Then got spoiled with ordering from Bob Woodman and just getting them mounted at the track so easily. Guess that may take a while to get sorted again now.... Not sure how the c51s compared to the R6s, but I was shocked to see the width difference to from c51 to R7 when I got my first set. Might have something to do with the times when comparing the two.

Yup, but the supply problem at the time was that they were fluidly available, then the Japanese tsunami and earthquake made them impossible.

Gonna keep an eye on them and see if stocks stay up.

Discount has 12 of the 275s we'd need in stock.

We'll see how that holds up.

I'm going to barter them for the shocks we are going to run and setup tips.

I will let P2 and P3 worry about securing the supply chain....

I've driven all except the Hankook. I liked the BFGs better than Toyos which I absolutely hated. Hoosiers would be at that top of that list for me.
