Bob Woodman Tires out...?
Just in from PCA:
Due to unforeseen circumstance, PCA Club Racing supporting sponsor Bob Woodman Tires has made several changes to his business. The impact on the PCA Club Racing is that Bob Woodman Tires will no longer provide trackside service at our race events and they will no longer offer a contingency program for Club Racers. Unfortunately, if you participated in this contingency program at Sebring or COTA, and have not already redeemed your discount, they will not be able to honor that contingency discount.
Anyone have any insight?

Audrey left more than six weeks ago from the family business.
Damn shame, he's a good friend but the business has evidently blown up.

Bob Woodman Tires continues as a licensed distributor for Hoosier, Toyo and Yokohama, is taking orders, and will distribute your ordered tires to the service center providing event trackside support.
So still order from Woodman, and assume pay for shipping to the track. And hope our tires show up. And hope we can figure out who are, and where are, the guys doing the mounting.

I am a long term PCA club racer and also own a mobile tire installation business out Charlotte called Tread Connection. I have just reached out to PCA to see if we can serve in select locations within a 10-12 hour drive of Charlotte.
We can deliver tires you order from us and/or install your tires.
Waiting to hear back.

Audrey was the best! Too bad. Always a pleasure to work with them.
Hopefully deals can be secured quickly. Tire support is critical at these events.

Anyone know if they booked tire support for RA? That will determine if I swap out mid-HC tires for stickers which isn't optimal. Thanks.
Sucks about Woodman... I've never had an issue with them.

Damn the world is ending! Bob has always been a great PCA partner have used them since I started racing Bob and crew were always first rate, I even found my BBS rebuild kits with them, Hope this was a business decision on their end not some other circumstances.

rumor is the tire manufacturers cut him out of trackside support and plan to do it thenselves. Bob put in a lot of blood, sweat and tears going to the track and providing top notch service and this is the thanks he gets.

That truly sucks.. Hoosier (and all the others) don't make enough $$ off PCA drivers that they needed to run over someone we have come to know and respect for their fantastic support? Who owns Hoosier, Sam Walton?

My guess is that Woodman might have just gotten too squeezed between the tire manufacturers and racers demanding discounts and contingency money. I don’t think selling tires is a high margin business. Maybe the business model just no longer worked.

If it's done right, like in any business, it can be. I know several successful tire dealers, including Roger Penske (Competition Tire East). Sascosports, Roger Kraus, Woodman for a long time...
