Real price of CGT

How have I missed this thread? Mr. Quam was going to get a GT and cancelled....? I would give my left nut for a RED Carrera GT!!!!
It might be a good thing you cancelled though, this might have put you into the poor house with only a GT2, and various Turbo Ss..... I saw a black 993 Turbo S yesterday in the hospital parking lot...and three cars down was a black 993 C4S. I wasn't at the doctor for ED, because I walked in the doctor office with a serious woody.

Forklift.
I would give my left nut also. It would be cheaper and less painful than paying 446,000 for the CGT. Plus since I am married with children I would use the CGT more then my left nut which is a shriveled up useless grape compared to what it used to be in my younger single days, when it was a masculine hotbed of blood gorged testosterone oozing activity. If you know of a plan whereby PCNA would trade human body parts for equity in a CGT don't keep it to yourself! Share it with us I have many body parts which are of no real value at this time.

What kind of performance would have allowed you to feel comfortable about buying the CGT?

Forklift,
You don't really have a threesome lined up do you?... Well do you???
Ben,
My dealer paid all their deposits to Porsche before they received deposits from customers. They had early controversy over which customers were getting their three allocations. At first they were told by PCNA that they were getting only three CGTs and they didn't have a fair system for which of their customers were getting a CGT. So to remain flexible they paid Porsche and did not make their customer deposits non refundable. Now they have been "rewarded" with 6 more allocations.
Ben, hope that made sense, Forklift has me all worked up. I think maybe my grapes may be stirring. Time to find my wife!

Greg,
Autocar mag. a UK mag tested a CGT. It ran a 11.6 in the quarter. Porsche in their CGT product information guide claims 11.4. I was hoping for low 11s. I can't go in to the rest of Autocar's test results right now. I need to find my wife before the mood passes. Sorry. BTW I saw my friends new viper run consistent 11.7s at the strip two weeks ago. And yes I know that Porsche quarter mile times are not what Porsche is all about thats why I own so many. But I would rather have 150 or so in the new 996 turbo S to be unvieled at Paris than 446 plus tax in a CGT.Plus have money left over for an 04 gt 2. Heck my old GT 2 ran 11.85 for 240,000 less. We will talk later Greg.

Les,
I hope you've found your wife and are not sitting at the computer right now reading this.
I would not let the 1/4mi. time dissuade me from purchasing such a wonderful car. You say your old GT2 was 11.85 compared to Autocar's 11.6 for the CGT.
OK, but the CGT's strengths are handling and producing unparalleled levels of downforce. It lapped the ring 6 seconds faster than the GT2 on a cold day with a damp track.
However, it is your money and your decision. I am only sorry that you are at least temporarily denying yourself the opportunity to own the greatest road car Porsche has ever built and denying me the chance to pay you $50(PCA member discount rate) for a ride.

Les, you got a GREAT deal!! The one I saw today at McKenna Porsche was stickered at $469K, and they were already offered $160K over that price, and I think it just came in yesterday!
Heh, hehehehheh, the General Sales Manager did give me the Carrera GT book, all 48 pages of it, heheheheh.
Now, I just have to become a Millionaire again, so I can buy one!
I go to Vegas more frequently, and I'd like to see this dealership, they sound about as good as McKenna!
Yeah, I'd love to have a ride, but that would have to wait until next year. Maybe I could interest you in going to see Penn & Teller then?

Whoa dude, I would never have let that happen. No car is worth my self respect. And for 400+k they can eat those costs. Who is the dealer? I want to be sure never to do business with them.
