After seeing bits and pieces of these services being documented on the forums Peter and I decided to document a full write up of what exactly is involved with the Carrera GT Major Service.
When Peter's gorgeous Gaurds Red Carrera GT first arrived. Was first taken for a preliminary road test to decipher if there was any drivability issues to be addressed once the car was strapped onto the lift. Scanned all computers to check for faults, over rev counter and TPM battery life
The wheels, wheel well liners and under body panels all removed for initial inspections
Disassembly for the Major Maintenance begins with removing the rear lid
Roll bar covers, rear fenders, rear bumper and rear wing al removed
A look from underneath with the under panelling and rear lower tub removed
His Carrera GT had some company for a few days
The engine table being positioned and secured for engine removal
The engine completely removed from the car and ready to for farther inspection and valve adjustments.

My car. Coming home next week but Jimmy's got one more thing to do......
Its been a truly great experience, and my CGT will follow Jimmy for the rest of my ownership that's for sure. During the time other techs read the instruction manual on what to do for a major, Jimmy can break one down and pull the engine. No need to worry about if it goes back together correctly either.
