As a US-based 918 customer, you have other specific avenues to assist you in customizing your Spyder (see below).

Actually, Melissa is my Specialist, I actually had a choice of Sasha or Melissa. Sasha was suppose to be mine as he was the one responsible for the West Coast but I picked Melissa only because I knew her since 2008 from a World Road Show in Toronto when she was only on temporary contract to Porsche.

But you are right that we Canadians do have other avenues to contact Porsche. Easier for the corporate structure to recognized the 918 customers as they only sold around 20 cars last time I checked. I have a direct line access to the Porsche Canada CEO for any concerns and a 918 Concierge at Stuttgart apart from contacting Melissa.

You are making my point. See the above quote from my post. On neither of the two hardbound sales brochures (photo #1) that I have, including the 12/2013 print edition given to me by Porsche last Wednesday at the 'Start the Engines' 918 event, does it show that 'carbon weave roof halves' are available for the standard car. And the US 918 Configurator (see attached photo #2) is almost 'void' of exterior options...and that shot was taken a few minutes ago! It might have 'always' been on the Porsche dealer's ordering computer as you claim, but unfortunately my friend Doug never found out about this option until last Wednesday! So to all prospective 918 customers that have yet to finalized their builds...caveat lector!

I knew you were 'special' from the word go!

Whoopsy: In that case, please put a good word and message of support for her with your contacts at Porsche Canada, and through them, to Detlev von Platen at PCNA! She is, as we speak, competing for Sascha's job as Manager of 'Porsche Exclusive' for North America since he is taking a new assignment! There are several others PAG types from Germany vying for Sascha's position here in America. But I think it's fitting to have one of our 'own', a person that understands our thinking & needs because she has worked with us since 2008, be in this key position at PCNA! Melissa has not asked me for this help...but I think it would be a nice gesture of those of you that she has helped in the past with your customization details to offer support for her now! I also ask any of you in the US to do the same for her if at all possible. Thank you.

Here is a copy of the price list I got since last May. At that time, the 918 luggage set was still part of the 918 options and not on the Tequipment catalog. And none of the CXX options are listed but most of those are no-cost anyway.

While it was listed as Confidential then, it is not now. It was the initial price list given out to dealers and I got it the same day as the dealers and it was suppose to stay out of public eyes for another 2 weeks back then.

I also have one that lists the dealer pricing for the 918, but I had instructions not to disclose that. I can only give out ballpark figures which I did a while ago.

The cars in Canada is priced exactly the same as in US and in US$.

As for Melissa, Porsche already know how much I like her as a ambassador of Porsche. When I first met her and up until last year at Palm Springs, I had no idea about her pageant background. I treated her and greeted her as a very knowledgable Porsche representative. I actually told her about it and expressed that had I known about her background earlier I might not have taken her seriously and might have think of her as a 'car show' girl for the cars.

You are missing the point of in my suggestion to contact Porsche Canada and/or PCNA at this particular time on her behalf. But whatever...

It is also apparent that there are big regional differences in available info. The UK configurator does not give nearly the same level of pricing info as US.

None of the materials i have been given show the carbon roof option, and additionally there does not seem to be the same formal VIP program document that US buyers can reference.

Having said that, it's obviously much easier for me to get to the factory to see and spec, which I'm looking forward to.

Great. Thanks for confirming. I think it would be cool to have a sister car out there somewhere. As long as there's not a large extended family of look-a-likes.

On another note, as long as we are talking about "wishes" here. Eduardo, or anyone else that knows, is it possible to be at the factory when our car is being assembled? I'd love to do that if it is an option! Even if I only see a few aspects of the build it would be worth it to me.

Plus I could see the museum again, and the rest of the production facility that I was unable to see since I visited the museum on a weekend.

The timing will be tricky. The car will be on the visible part of the factory for around a week I was told. I assume that means 5 working days. Depending how you would want to see you car, either in the finishing stage or in pieces stage it will mean different days for the visit.

It is possible to ask and arrange, but you will need to be on moment's notice to get there as Porsche doesn't gives out the exact scheduling. I have already asked to see if I can do exactly the same thing. I think at most I will get a week before hand of notice.

That's awesome. I might even stay the entire week.

Not to cut into your conversation but standard color guards red looks amazing on the 918 along with carrera white. If going with a more individual color midnight blue is one to take a serious look at. Congrats on your big moment... I hope to be in your shoes one day soon

'Carrara (like the famous Marble from Tuscany) White', color code B9A, has been discontinued since the last of of the MY2012's. 'Carrara White' is, however, currently available via PTS for the 991/981.

The new standard white since MY2013 in the 991/981 is simply called 'White' and has color code C9A. That is the color being offered as a standard on the 918 Spyder. As you can see from the attached photo* of the 'Carrara White' 997 vs the 'White' Cayenne, the difference isn't great! The new 'White' appears more refrigerator-appliance in hue. The 'Carrara White' has a slightly warmer tone...but just a touch!

'Carrara White Metallic', color code S9R, has just been introduced as a MY2015 metallic option on the 991/981. It's also available as PTS on the Panamera.

Eduardo
