Default How many 918s have been sold to date?

I recently decided to place an order for a 918 Spyder at my local dealer. I have to say it's very exciting.

I'm curious, does anyone here know approximately how many cars have been "sold" to date (i.e., for which deposits have been made and orders placed).

Congrats on your order! As far as how many cars have been sold to date, its all speculation. Only Porsche knows this for sure. It's not 918 because they're still accepting orders.

Don't know, but that's pretty exciting news. Congrats!

My unsolicited advice: Seinfeld's midnight blue is quite fetching on the 918.

On the drive at sonoma raceway this past Wednesday the client rep told me there is about 20% left to go. So about 200 still available.

I was really surprised when my dealer said that the car would be delivered in Jan/Feb. I'm taking that with a grain of salt. But, still, I figured it would be closer to a year out if they are building them at a rate of 2 per day.

About 2-3 months ago they were saying about 200 were left, the numbers are pretty squishy. The delivery for you sounds about right maybe a month early however they keep saying they anticipate production will pick up speed. My car was to be built in July but now the new date is November due to the delay in production. I am the 411th car world wide, 110 or 111 in north America. Lucky you will be driving yours 3 months before me assuming the snow melt cooperates...

Well you are welcome to have it delivered here and drive it whenever you want. I know a great place it could be stored until the snow thaws in your area.

I think "exciting" is an understatement ...

I will take this under advisement (LOL). I don't know if you have had a chance to drive the 918 but it is other worldly and amazing, congrates!

Have you decided on a color, I went through several before settling on one while walking through the factory and I changed my mind right then and there.

I am going to decide either tomorrow or early next week. Going back to the dealer tomorrow to look through some color ideas.

What do you guys think about the racing themes? In some ways I like them (though I'd want to do one that hasn't been done already). On the other hand, the car will get plenty of attention as it is, and the racing theme might make that issue worse. (I'm a car freak, but I really don't like the attention unless it's from another car freak who just wants to talk cars... )

Call me boring, but I like silver.

(Just realized you're in SoCal ... can't wait to see you cruising around the 405 )
