Default CGT Lift System

I am in the market for a CGT. I will need a lift system due to driveway clearance issues. Does anyone have one they recommend? I see a RUF system on the market which raises the car 2 inches but costs a ton ($20k?). There is another from KW which is far less costly but only goes up about one inch.

Please let me know if anyone has real experience with these systems and if you can recommend one. Thanks!

I have the Ruf system. As you say, high enough for quite steep rises. Activated by a rocker switch under the dash to the LHS of the wheel. It immediately illuminates a bright red led let into the dash. Silent and quick. Doesn't feel clunky when up like the OE 7.2 GT3 lift.

Thanks. Is my cost estimate on the RUF setup about right? 20k installed?

There is another company that makes a lift kit, but the cost is similar to Ruf.

Sorry DFW, mine came to me with it installed. The deciding factor between 3 I was looking at.

As I have already said, I have the KW system which has worked great (a button where the "ash tray" was) -- it automatically goes down at a certain speed. Someone else on this site has it as well. I have never seen the need to raise it anymore?

How far does the KW system raise the car? I was told the RUF system is 2" and KW is 1". Is that accurate?

I think KW is 2 cm front and rear.

Correct me if I'm wrong luckyp but I think Ruf is 4cm at the front?

2cm seems pointless... until you need just that much extra of course!

$20K for a car lift system? I'd be inclined to spend the money on having the driveway smoothed out.

I'll have to measure it. I can't see the point of a front and rear lift? Why would that help with clearing a ramp?

Maybe cheaper to fix the driveway?

I had a KW system until it failed miserably. The hydraulic ram completely failed and puked all of the oil out of system. I think the seals went bad? It worked great and then one day it just gave out? No rhyme or reason, just all of a sudden. I got a bid to have it repaired and I discovered it needed a new hyd ram. I called KW and they wouldn't warranty any of it because I didn't have a receipt. I should mention this system was on my Ferrari but I believe the parts are the same for Ferrari and Porsche. It was not a good experience and therefore I would never consider the system on my CGT.

I just had the the KW system installed. Cost me approx $15k excluding installation. Lifts front and back by 30mm. Wasn't sure if I needed the back as well but I've heard too many underbody scrapes on speed bumps to so I'm sure it's money well spent.

The car is still in the shop, because they're trying to get the tpms to work with the lift system, but I saw it today and it looks like more than enough clearance. Let's hope it keeps working though.
