Rich,

I just took delivery 3 weeks ago on mine. My best pointer is practice your standing starts in some empty parking lot before venturing out to the streets. As I'm sure you've read, just let the clutch out before giving gas. Counter-intuitive, but that's what you have to do. Gears 2-6 are normal.

Give the car LOTS of respect because it is a race car for the street and will get away from you.

Good luck and enjoy.

Agree, Rich let the clutch out slowly, as it engages don't touch the gas until it starts to move, then give it gas to go...you don't have to nail the gas unless you want a more impressive take off (always nice !)

As far as being on an incline....takes some getting used to and you have to be attentive...but what I do is release the clutch SLOWLY with left foot while right foot is on brake...when revs drop ever so slightly, let go of brake and car will go uphill without touching the gas, give gas and go. Sounds tricky, but becomes second nature after the first couple of trips....2-6th gears as any other car.

I usually shift 1-3rd when cold and let the box warm up before engaging 2nd at all.

On start up, all CGTs give a brake servo warning light...don't worry about it. Sometimes on cold start up, car will run rough for a few seconds and even out (normal per my tech)...

A couple of drives, and you will get the idea really fast....this really is a fun car to drive.

I should take delivery in the next 48 hours...besides for the birth of my 2 boys I can't remember being this EXCITED.

Thinking about organizing a drive for early next Sunday morning...my neighbor has a 430 coupe and we may go for a drive. If anyone is interested in joining send me a PM or an e-mail to rich.kaltman@sr3solutions.com.

hang tight, honey bear will be home soon enough! the anticipating makes taking possession/delivery all the more fun! most important thing is that its safe and non-disturbed. with all the nasty weather going on, better it come slowly and properly.

hang loose...its gonna be awsome.

after 100 miles in the CGT hear are my first impressions

1) launching the car is not easy...starting to get used to it
2) car needs to be fully respected when the tires are cold(thanks skip barber 3 day school)
3) the car has an obscene amount of thrust...feels like a 4 wheel motorcycle
4) the car ruins you for driving any other car
5) Porsche built a road going SUPERCAR!!!
