How do I stop this damn popup from ever appearing again?

What precisely does it entail to become a member beyond registering with the site, which I have done?


This "feature" is abysmal and the user should be able to turn it off:

 

I tried to post an advertisement for an item for sale -and learned I had to become a $$$ paying rennlist member in order to do so.

Most curious.

I am a member in other forums -both Porsche & BMW - and have been able to post articles for sale - without paying money.


It would appear that rennlist.com differs in this regard...

You can pay for this service by enduring advertising, or with a paid membership. Looks like you would prefer the latter - most do.

The popup in question is not an advertisement. It is a "feature" of this family of forum websites. It's a badly thought out interface item that obscures the reading of the messages. It needs to go.

 

Oops, I made an assumption, didn't read carefully.

I've never seen the popup you pictured. Perhaps it's an obscure setting, or something my browser doesn't allow, or something to encourage paid membership.

This is not the main forum for Macan owners (see http://www.macanforum.com/ ). Anyway, forums for new cars are not so valuable as, say, the 928 forum that is vital to keeping them running (and where mere "Users" are quickly shamed into paying). I'm not sure I would want to pay just for this forum.

 

Personally, I love them - especially the strawberry ones with icing!

I've never seen a popup when logged in as a paid member, only when logged out, which is the equivalent of a logged in non-paying member.

 

I was receiving these the other day. They seem to have stopped now but it is getting frustrating.
