I believe your car was driven by leh kehn and cory friedman early under Autometrics.
Was purchases by r bowman out of houston and maintained by topp during his ownership. Was driven by richard and m kemp in pca.

Our old car! That is the first 996 cup I ever drove. Leh and I had two podiums (VIR and Barber in SGS class. First Pro race podium for both of us.) in that car. The rear wheel tubs aren't pretty but it got the job done back in the day. It's going to England?

So all those hammer marks were done at the factory?

Mark,
In 98-01 it was the Pirelli SuperCup and the cars ran a 660 height rear. In 02- onward it was the Michelin series with. 680 rear. The factory used larger rear wheel tubs 02 on. If you had an earlier car you ran it as low as you could on the new rubber and then had to clearance using a very large hammer....to run the michelins and get a low enough ride height. Many cars were also retubbed after wrecks with the larger wheel tubs and some were done nicely with the new wheel tubs actually cut and welded in.
All worked well with different kool factors...
Some of the early kadach and farnbacher cars had some very creative ways of going a bit quicker...
Some Grand Am cars and Speedvision cars stateside also benefitted from the creativity...
Different topic for another thread.
Enjoy, car was a tenant for a long time...
