Fully Active Suspension Setup for Cup Cars
DSC Sport is proud to offer a fully active suspension setup for 997 and 996 cup cars! This is the same setup we used when we swept the Glen and set new qualifying and race lap records in the 2015 IMSA GT3 Cup Challenge. Check out the video below for some in car clips from the Glen.
And you can check out the full rain race from the Glen below, where we finished P5 overall, P1 in class!
As of now, our #36 car is the only cup car with the DSC Sport/Tractive DDA active suspension setup. However, we just shipped out our first, specially requested order for a 997 cup car.
The setup is now available for sale and includes a DSC module and a complete Tractive DDA coilover kit. For more information, call or email us!

Any specifics on Tractive hardware or DSC software features for the cup cars? How does the user select different maps from within the cockpit? Are the race cars limited to 3 software maps? Do the Tractive shocks have built in pots that Motec could log to facilitate suspension adjustment analysis?

Using CAN data, DSC Sport controls the damping value of each individual shock based on a variety of inputs, including vertical, lateral, and longitudinal G-force; brake pressure; accel pedal pressure; and steering angle in real time.
The system works the same for the cup cars as it does for the street cars, so you may find this discussion thread helpful:

There is an optional upgrade for the cup car system that allows for cockpit selectibility/adjustability. Here is a photo from Mike's #36 cup car. The **** on the left toggles between the three modes/maps. The **** on the right offers 10 different positions within each map. However, Mike has spent a lot of time tuning the off-the-shelf map you would be receiving, and it's unlikely that you would need any other maps. Also, bear in mind we will be releasing the software by years' end, so you can always create a custom map and load it onto the DSC via laptop/PC.

I also forgot to answer your question regarding datalogging/Motec. The DSC gathers Motec data, and we actually have a full CAN template for the Motec, which allows you to log all your suspension parameters.

The Good: these shocks are built like tanks.
The Bad: wiring harness, electronic and software aspects (being the key) all still in a very user unfriendly package. Zero documentation and has taken a LOONG time to come together.
I've stood by Mike and his guys on the DSC street product and know they're a good crew. But this... this is still a development product and NOT ready for retail consumption.

As always, DSC Sport comes with free tech and installation support. If you ever have any questions or need assistance with your DSC module or Tractive dampers you can call or email Tom, and he will be more than happy to help.
Again, we are very sorry for any inconveniences related to your purchase. Please let us know if there's anything we can do to remedy the situation.

It depends on your specific series. We are able to use it in the IMSA GT3 Cup Challenge on the 997 cars. The shocks are free in most series, but do check the rulebook for the specific series in question.

per pca 2015 rulebook:
GTC3 may use any 2-way adjustable shock.
GTC4 may use any adjustable shock. Remote reservoirs, if used, must be mounted without modification of any stock component.
So, real question for DSC... exactly what kind of shock is the Tractive damper? Can one argue that it's a rapidly adjustable 2-way? 3-way? 4-way? Multi-way?
