Best cup seat

I just bought the new carbon HRC-R from OMP , the price was not higher than a set of Michelin tyres , so i think it's a good investment regardless of weight because it seems to be really more rigid than the fiber seats i used in all my other cars.

...and based on what happened at Dijon, there can't be anything too expensive when your life is tied to it...

Consider weight of driver
The FIA standard 8855-1999 (updated in 2013) that most of our seats comply with specifies a test using a 50th percentile male hybrid-II or hybrid-III dummy which, if it could stand, would be about 5' 9" and 170 lbs. That works for me, but for many of our larger drivers the testing may not be quite as applicable.
The newer FIA standard 8862-2009 standard that approves seats for 10 years instead of the 5 years of 855-1999 does not use a test dummy at all. The standard stresses the seat at several points without an occupant. I guess a seat that meets that standard would be a better choice for our larger drivers.

Reviving this thread since I need to put a new seat in my 996 cup for next year.
Anyone tried the OMP HRC-D seat? It looks to have better containment than the HTE model, which is what I currently have. http://winecountrymotorsports.com/om...at-p-1514.html
It looks like FIA8862-2009 is the way to go now with seat options, problem is its tough to find some that aren't $4-5K+

the only way to really figure it out is to sit in it.
Sabelt was awesome because they let me sit in all of their seats at their so cal facility. I was able to figure out which seat was the most comfortable to my build.

I think the '13 997s and for sure the 991s come with a Recaro that has completely redesigned sliders. After sitting in that seat and racing in it, seeing how stiff and safe it is I pretty much refuse to race in any other seat.
It's not cheap, but when you see how much more secure you are you won't look back...

The P1300GT is by far the best seat I´ve ever been in! The Paddings make it easy to adjust for any drivers size or height. And it´s comfortable on Long runs.
The seat itself is so stiff and solid that you barely get any flexing of it. I always hated that in the 997´s OMP-seats.
And afaik it´s the only seat homologated with the ARS (Advanced Racing Seat) rules that has sliders. All other seats like Audi´s PS1 or the seat of the SLS GT3 are fixed to the Body. You can only move the pedalboxes.

From Porsche they are $10-11k, they can be found used for a little bit cheaper, but not much..

Old and long thread, that's going to take me a while to fully get through, but I thought it would be better to keep new info in the same one.
My originl seat is a little tight on my hips and kind of worn, so I'm thinking of using it for a passenger seat, because there is not one, and buying a new one. I saw an ad for this seat in Panorama and wondered if anyone had tried one. Sure is a lot cheaper than Recaro and seems to have some good features. I might end up with another OMP but investigating. I don't want to spend $10k on a seat, even if it is the best.
