Michelin N1 - Front Inside Cracking
I've recently had a series of the Michelin Porsche Cup N1 series tires develop cracking on the front tires / inside surface. The rears have NO issues at all.
I contact Jackson MotorSports - but Debra wasn't aware of any issues.
Has anyone seen this issue recently ? Please advise - Thanks !

Did you let them freeze up there in frosty CT? My guess is that the cracking is due to cold temps not low pressure driving. I've seen that before but not as pronounced as yours. Ask Jackson for the name and number for a Michelin Engineer, they are usually very helpful.

I had a tire do this a while back, and a Michelin engineer told me it is where the rubber seam meets in the mould, and it can be exacerbated if it's seen freezing temperatures. He said it was superficial, and thought it ok, so I ran it. But, if in doubt, toss it....

I have had several tires show this type of crack, front and rear. The common denominator?
They were all 1-2 years old and had likely gone through a couple of sub-zero cycles.
As mentioned, if in doubt, throw it out.

I've had the same cracking on a couple of one year old sets; also front and rear. But have kept the tires inside and don't think they saw anything worse than one or two nights in a cold paddock; barely freezing temps.
I ran these tires knowing about the cracks but then I had a tire go flat, luckily while parked. When I filled the tire you could hear and feel the air escaping through one of the cracks. I doubt any tire with cracks since then.
