Cup axles...or street car axles

Correct. Happened to me last Labor Day and caused me to crash @ Road America. Cost a lot more to repair than the price of the axles... and I still had to replace the axles.

I think the correct part no. for the CV joint is 928.332.030.08
ECS shows about $250, which is the best I have seen for this.

Correct part?
FVD shows over $400 for the same part

Cup car Newbie here. My car came with one blue and one Black. Is this a bad idea ?
I am assuming so since there is a difference in weight. Cheapest I have found blacks is 869.00 each. Anyone find anything better ?

If it's in the budget, upgrading to the 2nd gen (green, yellow) axles is a good way to go. Bigger diameter shaft and bigger and vented inner joint. You have to change the transmission flanges but the newer style axle seems to be a lot more durable and is close in price to the blue if I recall correctly. The later 997 rear undertray also has ducting to channel air directly to the inner joint. Not a bad thing to do and isn't crazy expensive.
