2008 WC 997 Cup upgraded to 2012 WC Spec for sale
This Cup car has been with GMG since it was first purchased in 2008 from PMNA. I am the 3rd owner after 2 GMG client's raced it and we have maintained it from day 1.
This car is currently in WC spec and ready to race in WC for 2013. We can sell the car and support the new owner for WC or Club Racing.
I last raced it at the Detroit GP June of 2012 and finished 5th in that race. In fact, I beat my 2010 Spec WC Cup in that race.
Or if you are looking for a dialed in Club Racer, this is the perfect car to run up front.
For POC, this car would beat all the GT1 times but run in the GT2 class!
The car has run the following times with the WC spec Pirelli slicks:
-Laguna Seca 1:26's
-Cal Speedway: Pat Long 1:36.8 and me 1:37.1
-Willow Springs: 1:19.2
Here is the car being tested by the new owner (prior to me) with myself and Pat Long coaching him. This was before the newer bodywork and blue and white wrap.
As I said, we have had the car under our roof since day one. It was prepped to WC specs back in 2008. Dino Crescentini owned the car originally and had a lot of success with this car. He did have a crash that year and we took the car down to the chassis for repair. And after the repairs Dino went out and won the next WC race at Watkins Glen beating Eric Curren in the Vette in 2nd and me in the sister GMG Cup for 3rd, while also beating Pilgrim and Pobst in the Volvos, Davis in the Trans Am like Mustang and the other Porsches and Vipers. He follows that up with a podium at Road America.
Fast foward and Bret Curtis buys the car a year ago and we do the test in the video above. He runs one race in it and does a few track days and then doesn't have the time to race it the rest of the year, so I race it for him at Detroit and then it has been here since.
Below is the list of mods which have been totally dialed in and make the car ready to race.
PMNA Built and Sealed 3.8 motor (2-ring) with 32 hours on it.
-475hp++ and 30ftlbs more torque than stock 3.8 Cup motor!
Copans built Gearbox with 12 hours on it.
-This car has the shorter RSR gears which really helps with acceleration.
The bodywork upgrades consist of:
-RS Rear quarter panels
-Front 2012 Cup fenders, hood, fender liners and radiator ducting
-2012 spec Carbon splitter with extension
-2012 Cup Spec rear wing
Additional WC Mods:
-GMG Header and Muffler System
-4 Way Ohlin Shocks
-Teves/Motorsport ABS System (save your tires! :-)
-PMNA Blipper System (new 2012)
-WC spec Carbon clutch and lightweight flywheel (makes a big difference)
-BBS Monobloc 18x10.25 and 18x12 wheels (allows you to run the bigger Pirelli front slicks at 275/645/18's for more front end grip)
-WC Spec Stoptech braking system (Tried and True System we have run on all the WC Spec Porsches.........mated up to the ABS system)
-Full WC Spec Suspension with Monoballs, Bump Steer Kit, bushings and upgraded sway bars.
-Full Motec Dash Upgrades with Pro Logging
Price: $149.5K obo

Burning Brakes
Oh noooooooooo, James you can't be letting go of the Hot Rod!!!
I was at Willow last year when this was on the track, I can personally attest that our 3.8's are not even close to pulling out of the hole, I kept looking out my rear view mirror to try to see what I was dragging!!
All kidding aside, the money spent to develop this car is a fortune, it is a first class, no expense spared build.
If anyone wants the Ultimate Club Car, this is it.. Please, please, please take this out to the east coast, otherwise I am going to have to add 800 lbs in my car to run in a different class

I am open to reasonable offers/trades as I have been offered a few interesting ones.....
And if it doesn't sell soon, I will bring it to Willow in a few weeks to run it on Saturday and anyone interested can see it in action.
Cheers,

Admitting my bias towards WC GT cars, I am genuinely surpirsed that this car has not sold. WC GT spec 911's are seriously quick and represent a lot of value for someone considering PCA racing.
