Just to clarify, this is what I am duplicating, just the element not the carbon fiber surround. The filter will not have carbon fiber bits either.

Jerry I've been going through a similar process.
Found these Hong Kong guys make the surround ... link
but if you see my thread on the cup forum I went for the 996 airbox instead ..
seems like better air separation and more filter area ie easier flow
just my 2c (at 8.76 to the USD)

Please consider doing them in black so it at least looks similar to stock. While not OEM, black may not unsettle the scrutineers like lime green might.

Already checked with Walt Fricke (PCA Club Racing). He is going to add the same words for Cup cars as they have for stock classes. Something to the effect that nuts, bolts and consumables (filters) are free. Did not want to go forward if these would not be accepted by PCA.

I placed my order today for 20 units. It will be mid January before I get them, hopefully in time to show them around at PCA 48 Hours at Sebring. I've decided to go with the color of the BMC filter, just to be sure the Scrutz don't raise any issue. I'm going to set the price at $275 plus shipping.

Thanks for the input/support. Happy Holidays

Default 996 Cup Filter

Hi Guys

I have the prototype in my hands. Looks nice but I've asked for a couple minor chnages so I should have the stock in a few weeks. Just in time to get the cars out for spring ( for the northerners!). I'll let everyone know when I have them ready to ship.

I'd be in for one. Is there a final price?

Jerry, I'm still in. Is there any way to have the filter element in black to make it look more like stock? I think that would make life easier for all of us with scrutineering......

I doubt the color will be a problem, especially it Walt signs off on it.
