My buddy at Magnus Racing sent me the in car video from the glen yesterday.

Glad John was ok.

Do you think the fire bottle would have killed this fire if it was activated before he got out??

That is one helluva a camera to survive thru the fire. I'm curious as well why the fire bottle wasn't activated upon exit?

what he said!

it took a while for the driver to realize the smoke and pull over.

That is very revealing...it took over 2 minutes for the safety crew to get there with a fire extinguisher??

Potter did a great job getting the car into a safe place, seemed to take that road which avoids the boot and then saw flames and pulled over. downside to hitting that access road was that it wouldnt have safety marshalls or other crew on it, so from that perspective, it wasnt ideal.

Depends on where the nozzles are located.

Tough break.

Thats why i ask, most likely the nozzles were in the factory locations, 3 in the engine bay, 1 in the front tub and 3 pointing down at the drivers legs. Im thinking the driver nozzles wouldnt have done anything to supress that fire.

Found out that the bottle was activated from the cowl. Guess that answers my question.
