Positive Jackson MS Experience at LRP Race
I wanted to share the positive experience that I had this race weekend with the Michelin Spec Tire situation.
I had a problem with my Practice Tires for day 1 (and wanted to save my new tires for day 2). The guys at Jackson Motorsports really helped me out - and by session 2, I was back up to-speed ! (55.5 at LRP). Without this deal - there would not have been a Michelin Truck at the smaller races like Lime Rock.
The Michelin Award ceremony was a nice touch. In addition, they gave out discount certificates for your next purchase (1st - $150, 2nd - $100, 3rd - $50). Finally Bryan Henderson discussed how they are spending the additional income at the Drivers Meeting (primarily tools for the Scrutineers - eg: bore/stroke measurement tool).
I know that many will still have the same concerns... but did want to share the positive experience that I had.

That's great to hear, Bill. Has JMG stated passing out decals, window banners and patches yet?
Can you tell us more about the issue with your practice tires and what JMG did?

I had a good experience with them too. I killed my RF tire in the 3rd session, locking up into Big Bend. They gave me one from the garbage pile so I could do the fun race and warmup, and use the new tires they sold me for qualifying and the race.
p.s. great driving, Bill!

Mike: Thank you ! Qualifying was my personal best time at LRP yet - 55.1. Not sure how to get to Baron Jacob's GTC3 record of 54.1 !
Chris: My Practice tires were very old and JMG helped me just like Mike (picked a set from the used pile and mounted/balanced for free). As far as the decals, window banners and patches - I saw many of the GTC cars had them installed, however, I didn't get mine (potentially because I dropped my new slicks off very early in the weekend).

I know where going, but I quess I would have to disagree. A 54 in a GTC3 car @ LRP is not a superhuman feat. That is where a good club driver should be. But occasional I have posted times that seem to come out of no where while chasing in a race.
