996 rsr

PMNA stock 3.6 rsr sprint motor believe it or not, only mod is wide open intake (no restrictors which killed these motors when they ran in ALMS)
Got 3rd overall at rennsport pca but had 2 embarassing spins after a drastic rear bar change we shouldn't have made right before the race... 13:30 and 19:45

Alex,
Thanks for posting the video. The RSR looked like a bit of a handful!
That Boxter was really fast, also an RSR engine or a turbo? You were better under braking but he really pulled on the straights.

That black car was crazy fast. He has a twin turbo 997 motor in it, not sure how tuned it was from there. It was my first time driving the 996 RSR and I will need some more time in it to really get fast, it has pretty good downforce and those monster front tires would really grip well on turn in compared to our cup cars. I was running the pirelli WC spec tires and liked them a lot, but definately need to get the car more dialed in and get used to all that horsepower above 8k rpm which really requires a different type of driving. I was doing 1:30's and a good driver probably coulda done 27's so the cars are pretty great for a generation and a half old.

Alex's RSR is a beauty and since we tuned it without the restrictors, it's a monster as Alex described.
We are bringing it down for him to Sebring PCA and running it in the enduro so it should be fun.
I think Alex meant to say it has 475hp+ at the flywheel......but still a very strong engine and it sounds amazing!
That Boxster/Cayman Twin Turbo has 900hp beast on a Fabcar chassis....
And Alex is too modest, he did a great job driving the RSR at Rennsport as it wasn't dialed in yet.......but it should be by Sebring.

Glad to see Alex is enjoying that RSR. I looked at in 2009 (when Canepa had it on consignment), but decided the Cup was the right choice for me. Loren's Cayman/Boxster is cool, but I'd go for the RSR every time.
Regarding the engine, can't PMNA rebuild it to either 3.8 or 4.0 liter specification pretty easily?
