I depressurize before swinging the elbow. No worries.

Oitiker also has high pressure ones, which is what the pro team I've seen use. Then really no worries.

I have had bubbles form in two different Gorilla hoses, each rated for 500 PSI but used at pressures less than that. I'm changing to the pressure washer hose.

I had my local Hydraulics company make up a custom line with all the right fittings . Best part is I had it cut to the length I wanted and its good for something like 2,000 psi . No need to worry about bleeding it down to stop bursting. Cost under $200 with all the fittings

after having a second regulator fail I have decided its time to bite the bullet and get the Paoli B.40.0002.
I am also thinking while I am at it to get a hose from them.

I do find it interesting that most of you guys have been able to get away with a 450 psi reg as I cant even get the rear to budge at 450 psi.
I need 5-550 to get the car off the ground.

that regulator if I do the math right is mid 600 bucks but we have spent that on supposedly good 600 psi rated regulators that have failed already

the hose we currently use is blue and designed for steam cleaning/carpet cleaning.
it is stiff but works just fine.
