tall tank (ones that are ~5 ft tall) ...swag, mine drops roughly 100psi after every jack use (I use 350-400 psi). don't recall what tank pressure was when i did that check.

If you have a local welding supply shop that's the best place. Renting is easy so you can just drop off an empty and get a full one, sometimes you have to wait around to have one filled. On the other side of the coin I have a tall HD aluminum tank. Rated for a higher pressure and half the weight for travel in the trailer. Hard to exchange and get the same thing back so I refill the trailer tank and the shop is a steel rental...

Also a long hose is nice but you do loose a lot of volume in when you vent it.

I use small tanks 2.5-3' tall ,get maybe 5-6 lifts from it . Much easier to haul to track and to refill ($25. a re-fill) i have 2 tanks at all times

I used middle size Azote ( nitrogen ? ) 200 bars bottles with an adjustable pressure regulator 200 to 0/60 bars. The diving bottles have the same pressure so i keep my regulator, the only problem is to find the adaptors between the diving bottle and the regulator ( internet diving stores ).
I know it's air, not neutral, but a lot of teams use that on their cars.

Good idea using diver tanks. As long as it's dry air, doesn't matter.

From what I've been told most water gets in the system simply by using the air jacks when it rains. There is some water build-up in the coupling on the car, which gets pushed in when connecting the hose.

What regulator did you get? It seems to be the most expensive part of the setup.

Actually, it is more likely to collect in compressor tanks. All air we breath has some type of moister in it. The moisture condenses in tanks. That is why it is important to have dryers on the compressor if you want dry compressed air. And dryers are a pain, thus the use of nitrogen.

The regulator was sold by AIR LIQUIDE when i rented the bottle, the actual cost is about 400 $ in France.

Its better to have dry nitrogen, but a lot of teams are using air with a sub dive compressor and the jacks have a good life expectancy .
