Matt, long time!

How do you use these in the trailer--that is, where do you put the tie down points on the floor of the trailer? Mostly, I see them a couple of feet in front and behind the car in line with the wheels, so these D-rings do not really work. Did you put your tie down points right up against the walls of the trailer so that the straps did not contact the body work?

I had mine tied down to e-track along the walls of the trailer. This prevented contact with bodywork as you said.
If you have tie down points directly in front of the tires it still may clear the bodywork. You can kind of gauge your clearance by holding a straight stick from the tie down point to about an inch or two straight out from your centerlock nut to see if it will work.
I prefer the e-track route either way though. It gives more flexibility.

By the way, am I remembering correctly that I actually instructed you WAY back when at VIR in your street GT3?
If so, you probably remember how bad of an instructor I was/am...

I remember scaring you in the Esses as we chased down a Corvette. You asked me to back off. I had fun, though I have not returned to VIR. At the end of July we have a 24 Chump Car race there, but in an Integra, not a cup car....

Hahaha.
I seem to have "control issues" being in the passenger seat of fast cars going up the esses....

John, are these the ones that bolt underneath the car? I'm looking for those so I can do without the center lock tie down hoops.
Let me know. Thx.
