Default 993 engine work advice

Have a 96 993 Cup in the northeast.
I threw a rod throw the case at my last event and am looking for advice where to get the engine rebuilt over the winter.
My understanding is with 993s they need to machine a 3.6 to a 3.8L so not a straight forward process.

All advice and info is appreciated!

I would give Geoffery Ring a call http://www.racetek-engineering.com/, he is on here all the time, and would be able to help you out with anything you may need, or point you in the right direction.

Sorry to hear that.
I have basically a complete long block in parts from a 3.8 RSR engine if that helps. If I remember correctly (took it apart in 1998), there is a case, crank, p&c's with high compression, PMNA ported heads with larger valves (beautiful), camshafts and all the little bits and pieces. I don't believe there is any exhaust, intake, clutch or wiring but you can use what you probably already have there...
I had thought of re-assembling it (no problems, just had 30hrs on it, in those days that was considered all the time for a racing engine) with new bearings etc but can part it out as this is a very long term project...
No idea on pricing, maybe 50% of retail for whatever is there? I can be negotiable on that if you want everything...parts currently in FL.

Useful info above. Others you might consider talking to are Peter Dawe and/or Joel Reiser. Good luck.

If you want to keep the car original and PCA GTC-2 legal, be aware of the differences between the RSR components and the Cup components during your rebuild.

Good point if that is where you plan to use the car, but all of the bottom end pieces can be used and you can still have the Motorsports case instead of converting a street case.
I would consider selling the case, int shaft, pump, crank, rods as a package, then I can sell the pistons/cylinders and heads separately. They have 100hrs total on the bottom end parts with a rebuild 30hrs ago. This would make the rebuild much simpler with all the right stuff.
PM me if interested in all or part of this package...
