The motor is some kind of hot rod deal. The previous owner was told that it was refreshed to "rsr" spec - but I can tell you from looking through it a bit that it hasn't been. It has some kind of GT3R or RS cams, ported cup heads (I think), RSR individual throttle bodies and ?? for pistons (i'm assuming cup, but maybe GT3R or RS?). I talked to the guy that tuned the Motec and installed the RSR throttle bodies and he said it made a little over 400 at the flywheel - however it had a standard aluminum intake on it which he felt was really restricting the top end with the throttle bodies. I have a carbon intake I will put on and we'll see what it does. I would imagine somewhere between 370-390 at the wheels.
We bought it mostly because it came with all the Motec stuff I need to make the car run without the Bosch/Porsche motorsports ECU. There's nothing wrong with that ECU (and I have one...) but for the most part the only people that can touch it are PMNA and I wanted more flexibility/independence.
Hopefully we'll make some noise some time by mid december...

Your car looks great, nice work!

Probably will race it 6-10 times a year in AZ and SoCal.
If you want some late 996 GT3RS hot solid lifter cams and camboxes, I've got those sitting on a shelf since I went to the late RSR stuff ;-)

Wow... I know that car. Two of my friends/former students bought it from Kevin and ran it. Rennwerks (that is a story all by itself). The original tub was lost at Fontana if I recall correctly. I am not sure, but maybe Tommy did the re-tub.
Good luck
