Default Noise police- need advice

A freind of mine just purchased an 02 Cup car. I am pretty sure the thing is going to blow well over the 94dB limit. What are Cup owners doing when they run DE's in order to stay within regulation??
Thanks in advance for your help.

Up in the Great White North. Watkins Glen, Mont Tremblant, Mosport and Calabogie.

I've seen some cups for sale that advertise "exhaust modded to run 92dB" and such so there's got to be a simple fix

Mont Tremblant and Calaboge both have a low noise limit. WG is fine with open pipes.

I love The Glen. I do the majority of my events there.

I will be needing something for the 08 cup car for Lime Rock. It has bigger pipes than the previous years. Anyone have something for these yet?

How do you attach the extensions to the pipes? That setup might work on my cup.

I had small tabs welded to the exhaust pipes and my extensions . The extensions slide inside the factory outlets and bolt right up. The foam is really important especially with your 7-cup and it's larger throttle body. IIRC the 7-cup guys have to use a larger piece of foam the fills up the entire rear deck....

Thanks for the info!!!

So the foam quiets down the intake roar and really makes a difference? What kind of foam is that, and where can you get it?

Mike I can't remember where the foam came from but it wasn't anything special. Contrary to what you would think, the intake is the source of most of the noise coming from the motor. You can see I aimed my exhausts away from the passenger side which is where the monitors are at Laguna, but that's only half the battle. The noice that eminates from the throttle body is just as important. I found one pic from last summer at Laguna. If you look real close ypu can see the yellow foam covering the rear deck lid....
