Sold some early cup cam housings to a chap on eBay but not he's complaining that they aren't cup as they don't have VVT oil galleries, they've got bigger buckets etc.

I'm travelling at the moment, I know someone with access to PET, but he's not near his computer. Might get a quicker confirmation on here.

For the 996.1 Cup (1998-2002) the correct part numbers are:



99610502998 – AS Camshaft Housing Cylinder 1-3

99610503098 – AS Camshaft Housing Cylinder 4-6

Those are the correct part numbers. I am not well-versed when it comes to the 3.6 cup motor, but I believe VVT was only on the street cars?

He's agreeing me that VVT isn't used on cup cars. He's saying that the galleries should be there, just not used.

These are the early ones with the bigger buckets, so I'm not sure if they are different than any other cup cam housings, but they are definitely cup in my view.

if I recall the early cars used solid lifters as well.

So I think these are R housings.

For sale is anyone wants them, as I sold them as cup and turns out they're R, so not as described on eBay. But I can sell them as R.
