FS: 2018 991.2 GT3 Cup - Low Hours
Update: Car no longer for sale... she's staying for 2019!
Motorsport just confirmed my allocation for a new car next season... thus planning to sell my current 2018 991.2 Cup at the end of November:
My original plan has been to run her next season, but the availability of a brand new car from PAG could change things around. With a 2019 car I'll be on the same equipment as the sharp end of the grid next year...
Motorsport just confirmed my allocation for a new car next season... thus planning to sell my current 2018 991.2 Cup at the end of November:
- Car campaigned exclusively within Porsche Carrera Cup Asia from new, for only one season by a single Bronze driver
- No-expense-spared maintenance (e.g. fluids, brakes, belts, windscreens, clutch, driveshafts all changed well inside of intervals)
- Retubbed, and received PAG-sealed rebuilt engine and gearbox just this August, all certified to Carrera Cup technical standards
(those who have been through the official series know this is a high bar; the PAG delegates will call out and replace just about anything if they don't like the look of it) - To be delivered with less than 8 hours on the current tub, engine and gearbox at time of delivery (currently at 5 hours, but have one more round before season-end)
- Optional supercup exhausts (straight pipes), standard center muffler, safety nets, two sets of wheels, Krontec air lance
My original plan has been to run her next season, but the availability of a brand new car from PAG could change things around. With a 2019 car I'll be on the same equipment as the sharp end of the grid next year...

Thanks for the bump!
Engine is rebuilt in Germany with new crankcase.
Update: we've dropped the enduro event in November which means the car will be delivered with < 8 hours on the engine+gearbox+chassis.
Mileage looked like this as of last weekend. Rebuild was done at 1724km when PAG reset the hours to zero.
p.s. To think about it, (2344-1724)/4 = 155km/h... and that's inclusive of what must've been an hour's time of engine warmup for all the sessions! Maybe I'm faster than I think

That said I recognize I'm in a more ambiguous position vs. others, as my MY18 will only have 7-8 hours (vs. others' ~25-30) come November. Hence my Plan B is to keep running this car if it doesn't sell. And in that Plan B, I'll budget for gearbox refresh end-2019 and possibly shock replacement, to make sure I'm as close to the MY19 cars as possible.
Final consideration is my resale come end-2020. I'm not sure if I'd want to be selling a high-hour car when the market switches to the 992 and supply of 991.2 will be at a max. Net-net I may have a case of "take some hit now, have less of an unknown down the road".
(Reference: engine lifetime is 100H and gearbox 60H in the .2 but some teams may start itching at 2/3rds of those intervals)

Price reduced. If trade's not closed in 3 weeks (coinciding with the WEC round and my deadline for the '19 car) I'll keep running her next year.

She's here to stay! Had a couple (real) close calls at the season finale but otherwise finished on a high note... she's gonna spend the winter in a warmer climate and will be back on the grid next year
