I am working with DTA and if interested, check out the technology at www.dtafast.co.uk and let me know, I can offer tremendous deals on the units.

Email me if you have questions. mmthomas@ix.netcom.com

Mark,
Sooner or later...
I have been watching the Mustang crowd closely for a while, particularly late model stangs'.
Has anyone started playing with a complete late model stang' computer, ecu, harness swap out to the 928 series? The system is very common, available cheaper and amenable to mappable piggyback units and Diablo chips. The shark systems are not going to be available/rebuildable forever. Just a thought. Hey, did you see Randy V.'s intake spyder? Honed extruded/polished/ceramic coated...
Did I see an Ad for this on the Devek site or was that Specialties'?
Thanks John S.

John,

I'm in the process of adding a Tec II system to my 928 and is being installed by the the latter half of the ek, Lucky Ekman, in Devek. Assuming he gets finished with the engine and gets to the Tec II, I'll let you know how it performs.

please keep us posted on availablility! I spoke with Doug at EFI systems, he is working on a complete replacement for the motronic that is fully programmable for the laptop using the same harness. This differs from their usuall piggback (purple box) variant in that it does not just modify the existing motronic data and is not limited by its shortcomings. Should be out late summer. Is this the same thing??

Beetos: is that EFI in Torrance, CA or another EFI?

I would be VERY interested in an easily programmable ECU which "bolted up" to the original Motronic harness.

I saw an add in the latest edition of 'Turbo' magazine, and import based rag. It had a full description of the unit. It sounds awsome! I will PDF if and post it on this thread. It is EFI in Walhalla, SC

Re the EFI box-- This thing, once known as "the Interceptor," has been around for years and is an adaptation, I believe, of Ford Motor technology. I had one on a '95 993 RS in the then-fashionable purple color. It was a piggy-back system that allowed you to pick off the engine-management signals and to reprogram with your own parameters. It all comes down to fuel, spark, and ignition. But you also have to know which values to type in on the keypad. For some folks, this will be a good thing, for others, and invitation to trouble. In any case, it is in no way a substitute for something like a MoTeC, which, while a *lot* more expensive, provides you with the keys to a *lot* of untapped horsepower.

Just my opinion, others may have a different take...

Lee, I konw of the piggy back system, but this one caught my attention because it is fully stand alone, can drive low imp. injectors, has fully editable tables and configurable I/O's etc, has boost tables etc. Basically exactly what I want. I am very familiar with the purple box piggback but this sounds like a proper, fully programable system as opposed to signal modifier. It might not be a Motec but is sounds like a hell of a lot for the money. I am gonna watch it very closely and try get one as soon as they are available, I will of course report back here. Thanks.

Not a Motec, but you can hack and reprogram the fuel and ignition maps in your Motronic system by remapping the hex data in the bin file of the eprom. A lot easier and less expensive than installing a Motec or piggy back computer, much more reliable while retaining the OEM appearance. If this is a option that is ideal to your application, the thread can be followed here:
