This kit allows you to install a controller and vacuum solenoid into any car so you can use a Valvetronic exhaust system even if your car was not originally equipped with the Porsche Sport Exhaust, and control it from a remote inside the vehicle. Alternatively, if your car has PSE and you want to control the valve position inside your mufflers fully independently, without the car making automatic changes relative to RPM, or throttle position, this kit will let you override that too to have full control.
I have it available because it was included with the Fabspeed Valvetronic Exhaust I purchased from another forum member, and like him, my car was equipped with factory PSE so I just hooked it up to my factory solenoid, so this kit is brand new, never installed.
Fabspeed sells it for $495 + shipping and I'm offering mine for $350 including insured and trackable ground shipping.
Being able to open up your exhaust for maximum performance and sound is great, but so is being able to quiet it down, like when you're driving through your neighborhood early in the morning or late at night, or when a police officer comes up next to you in traffic or on the highway, or when you need to make a phone call in your car - it allows to have a true dual-purpose exhaust.
I've included photos of the actual kit along with a couple of when I did my exhaust project last year. You can see the lines running down from the engine compartment where the vacuum solenoid is located to the vacuum actuated control boxes on the mufflers which regulate the passageway for the exhaust gas through the muffler. In sport mode, only half the muffler is used and in quiet mode, all of the muffler is used.
