New here - at least to the panamera section. Previous 996 owner. Just picked up a 2013 S CPO. Looks like the recall is only up to 2012 MY. Mine was built mid 2013 so it’s a late build and last year for the V8 in the S. Should I be worried ? Or I dodged a bullet I wasn’t aware of !?

Thanks you probably dodged it, but I would take it to the dealer and have them check anyway, since you are CPO preventive maintenance should cost you $0.00 and you will get a loaner. Piece of mind is priceless..!!

My 2011 PTT was listed on the nhtsa website. Last month i had the recall service completed. Now, it shows my VIN has no recalls. I think that means that the recall fix was completed and there are no outstanding recalls.
So, you should be fine.

I'll double check, but the dealer did a very extensive service to bring the car up to CPO standards, so I would expect if there were a recall it would have been addressed at that time. Actually I saw the entire list and there were no recalls that I saw.

@freeflap: Thanks for the comp. Hopefully this is the case as this AH08 deal has been the thorn on my side for the last 7 months and especially during the last few months I have listed my car for sale. I love this PTT but it just not get driven.
@C4racer Sounds like you have nothing to worry about then. Just enjoy the car.I always wondered how these Panos handle w/o the all wheel drive. I've rented a few base and 'S' models during my business travels and I'll stick with the 4 wheel spins.

Porsche On!

so just an update on the 2012 panamera S with a delivery date of january 2012. i called the dealer and provided them with the VIN and they said its not included in the recall. I asked them why even though its an early 2012 model and they told me that it probably just made the cut off before they discovered the issue. curious if anyone on this forum have a MY2012 that is affected by this recall.

the RWD S handles great from my perspective! I am replacing an E39 M5 sedan, and so far it's pretty darn close to the handling and driving dynamics of that car which is saying something considering the added size of the Pano - although weight is very similar.

Just because its a 2012 doesn't automatically mean its applicable to the campaign. I dont think anyone except Porsche knows the date of the switch over in manufacturing but if they say its not applicable then I would say its not applicable. I dont believe they would intentionally withhold cars from getting the campaign to save money, not with the NHTSA involved. There are probably model year 2012 cars that were build mid to late 2011 that have the old style adjusters and these are probably included in the campaign but maybe not later production model year 2012s. If you choose to go see the car in person you can check for yourself with a flashlight and a dental mirror.
