Default Just Acquired a Carmine 2017 Panamera

Hello all,

Some of you may know me from the 991 forum. I have owned a 2016 C4S for the last year and a half.

For reference, I also own a 2012 Boss 302, a 2013 Ford Raptor, and a couple Ducati super bikes.

As luck would have it, my wife who we thought couldn't conceive had a baby a few weeks ago and my raptor was proving difficult for her in hoisting the car seat and stroller into a lifted truck and driving around with it.

Since she has tolerated my numerous idiosyncrasies with my car and motorcycle habit, I decided to get her a new car. I've had a great relationship with my dealer and I was planning on a sport turismo, but the kid is here now and we needed to do something soon.

So I originally intended on leading a Macan and using the pull ahead program later, my dealer had this beautiful panamera in carmine, with the turbo wheels in base trim, but fairly well appointed. My wife fell in love with it so I pulled the trigger.

I've only driven it for a few minutes but so far it's an impressive car. It's not as fast or as sharp as my C4S but it is deceptively fast around town thanks to the low end torque. Someone who isn't revving the ***** off of a 991S might feel the base panamera is quicker. Handling is obviously amazing especially for the size of vehicle, and it accommodates my infant son very well.

Heres a few photos and link to the build on dealers site.

I'll report back with more thoughts once I've driven it a bit more. Sorry for the odd format of the post as the mobile site is kinda weird.

Very nice! [More] importantly, congratulations on the little one!

I've also gone for the tinted rear lights - really like the look of them - nice contrast for the red.

Thanks everybody for your kind words and well wishes. We pick the car up tomorrow from the dealer as we brought it in for tint, 20%.

I'll take a few more photos and get a better impression of the car.

For anyone with an infant, I found that the rear bucket seats have an incline to the thigh/hind quarters area. This makes mounting the base to my child seat a bit more of a challenge as it doesn't sit exactly flush. However, we were able to make it work with a small pillow to level out the seat.

I suspect that for front facing child seats this is not an issue, but is a minor one for our Nuna seat but was easy enough to solve, and was a verified solution with the child seat manufacturer.

That's the same issue I had with the back seats feeling uncomfortable compared to earlier models.

Went in today to pick up car with 20% nano tint all around and full orientation from dealer.

I still haven't driven it today as I figured I'd take my C4S to the detailer while we did it all.

But here they are side by side and I snapped a quick freeway shot -- I know, but at least the baby was in the other car. The 991 looks tiny!

As for the color it looks awesome. Very Ferrari like. In fact parked next to my red Ducati, the color is almost identical.
