So I have been gone from the Rennlist boards for a while but i couldn't stay away. i ordered a 2013 GTS (which has a build date in mid-May)and was wondering about a couple of things. First can anyone tell me if they have compared the Platinum Silver color to the GT Silver and what the difference is. I ordered the car in the Platinum even though i want the red because the wife will kill me if i get another red car Secondly is the PDDC worth it? i don't plan on taking the car to the track and was wondering if anyone had that option or compared it to a non-PDCC Panamera.
I have driven the Panamera GTS, and own a Turbo...get the PDCC...it makes a huge difference on a car that weighs that much. We have PDCC on our 2011 Cayenne Turbo, and it is night and day with and without...would never get a car this heavy without it, if you like the twisties...
It's not just for the twisties, although the car is 'freakish' in it's ability to handle curves with the PDCC. It also makes the ride over rough roads just incredibly smooth. You have instantaneous adjustments of the stiffness at each wheel, and that compensates for a lot of road irregularities. Plus, my wife noticed it immediately when we were on an exit ramp - very normal speeds. "The car isn't leaning at all!" - and she is not a car person.
I'm a Porsche Instructor, and track/race a lot. This is an absolute 'must have'. It transforms the car.
can't agree as a must have - i could really only notice it on my Cayenne turbo when i did rapid lane changes - i don't do a lot of rapid lane changes, so i found it somewhat a waste.
it really has a use in off road as it allowed the Cayenne to de-couple the wheels and articulate over bumps.
these things are all flat in the first place, in other words the base line is well above normal for each segment.
if ordering i would likey add, if there was a car on the floor that had everything else i wanted, but no PDCC, i wouldn't hesitate forgoing the pdcc.
We have it on our 2012 cayenne S and think its worth it. I drove both before ordering and much better with PDCC,PTV etc. I pick up my new Pana GTS tomorrow and have it loaded with the 5k PDCC PLUS package. the GTS looks amazing! Can't wait.
Please forward some feedback on the new GTS, I am contacting my dealer to see if I can add the pdcc. I am looking forward to getting some real info on the drive. I also have it pretty loaded except for the pdcc.. Good riding.
picked up my gts this am and all I can say is holy s@&$!!!! The finish work is beautiful , and the ride is awesome. I agree with unwolverine that it doesn't lean at all but rides right over bumps in road without harshness. Much smoother than my cayenne s with same features so far. I've only driven a few miles though. The PDK is smooth for both up and downshifts. will take it for longer drive later today.
Very nice..picked up this one for the wifey last Wed. Am very impressed with this vehicle so far. Porsche did a good job...as good as my A7 or better...IMHO.
