Default 971 Coding Innodrive

Hi All, I have a Panamera 971.2 with Adaptive cruise control. I wondered if it was possible to code this to Innodrive using PIWIS? Does anyone on the forum do remote coding?

Thanks

@rnlst_log does remote coding and he could probably answer this for you.

I'll drop a note in here saying that the PID (Porsche InnoDrive) is not that great. It drops the target speed down to the posted speed limit, there's no way to pre-set an offset so you have to keep adjusting to your preferred offset. The biggest downside is that the PCM navigation needs to be actively navigating in conjunction with PID to get the full feature working.

Interesting, thank you for the info. I haven't tried a car with it but mainly wanted it for the traffic jam assist feature, I have found the adaptive cruise pretty good so just assumed if innodrive was a free coding mod It could be nice but it seems pretty tricky to code this generation of Porsche

I am 90% sure that Traffic Jam Assist is already there for cars with only ACC. I just did a 600+ mile journey yesterday and exclusively used ACC in traffic. I was periodically receiving a dashboard notification about TJA (when I don't move the steering wheel enough after a period of time).

The speed adaption feature of InnoDrive in my Cayenne can be deactivated in the PCM but I've gotten in the habit of flicking the cruise control stalk forward as many times as necessary - usually two or three - to increase my speed to where I want it to be. IMO, the biggest benefit of InnoDrive is Active Lane Keep Assist which keeps the vehicle centered in its lane including in stop-and-go traffic jams. The Traffic Jam Assist feature is supposed to cause the vehicle to follow a preceding vehicle at low speed below around 40 mph even when there are no lane lines but I'm not certain I've seen it do that.

It's interesting to know that ACC in the Panamera includes TJA. I thought that the Macan was the only Porsche model that has TJA available without InnoDrive and that's only on Macan with both ACC and LKA - except that several people on the Macan forum can't get TJA to work.

InnoDrive can get pretty pushy when a navigation destination is set. Just this afternoon it seemed hell bent to make me turn where it wanted me to turn except I decided to go a somewhat different route. It is sometimes nice when I'm not paying as much attention as I should when it slows the vehicle automatically when I approach an exit I'm supposed to take based on the set navigation destination.

Innodrive is pretty useless up to the 971.2
On the newer platforms, it brings the car to near stop at stop signs and decreases speed (sometimes too much) around the bends. I have it in my 971.2, and it's essentially the same if absent. If you want to follow the speed limit at all times and it varies a lot where you drive, then it's borderline. If you drive a bit above , it's useless.

Have you tried flicking the cruise control lever forward a few times to get the speed up to where you want? I find it easy to do. Or turn off the speed adaption feature of InnoDrive if you don't like it and use the rest.

The slowing for bends can be made MUCH more exciting by selecting Sport mode while using InnoDrive. But the most important feature of InnoDrive by far is Active Lane Keeping Assist. It works perfectly as long as there are decent lane lines or even a well define road edge on the right side. It makes long distance highway driving much less tiring - at least for me.
