'Whoo' sound when shifting from 2nd to 3rd
I saw another post about this issue but no cause or solutions, so I post this in a seperate thread ;-)
In my 2018 Panamera 4s Sport Turismo I sometimes hear a noise when shifting from 2nd to 3rd and sporadically when shifting from 4th to 5ft
It's not consistant en rather hard to reproduce, but I was able to catch it on video which I enclosed
It seems to be more frequent with a cold engine, but even when it is on temperature I hear it now and then.
Does anyone have an idea what the cause of this could be?
Looking forward to your replies!

Maybe its me but that video had no sound. Either way, it sounds like the noise you're describing at shift is the blow off/bypass (I forget which one). It gets more pronounced under high throttle and/or PSE activation. The 4S runs about 19-20 pounds of boost so all that pressure needs to be vented for a split second when the throttle closes at a shift point. You may also hear a similar noise when letting off the throttle suddenly.

I will be playing around with the trottle to see if letting it go suddenly produces the same sound.
Will get back on that....

Some new findings.
** I can't hear or reproduce the described sound when spontaneous releasing the throttle during acceleration.
** In supersport mode the sound is almost always there when shifting from 2nd to 3rd. RPM is around 3000 when shifting, speed is 40 km/u.

I have an unusual sound during acceleration on my 997.2 turbo. I sprayed some belt conditioner on the belt and it seemed better. So, this weekend I plan on replacing the belt, two pulleys and the tensioner. For the low cost of a spray can try it.

I got the video sound to work on my phone and it doesn’t sound like my car between shifts. Not sure what to tell you now. I have kind of a “woosh” between shifts and if it hit it under and overpass or in a tunnel it sounds like air violently bleeding off.

I have the same exact noise as you described it, its usually from 2 to 3 under load. Sounds like a whoop. I think it sounds cool.
There are no performance issues, vibrations, or concerns I have with it.
