Sounds expensive how much did it cost you to get fixed . So when I go to the dealer or whoever I have to have it repaired by what do I tell them that's wrong with it. Your problem sounds like the very same problem I'm having with my Porsche Panamera
If you were asking about the balance shaft fix, I have no idea, it was entirely warrantied.
Finally decided to take panamera to shop. Mechanic found problem the second day.
Timing chain needs replacing.
Correction it wasnt the timing chain car still ticking after timing chain replaced.

Reason: Miss diagnose
Just last week when sitting parked in my garage, my panamera started a light tapping sound. The song resonates on the driver side.
Does anyone have a idea of what this could be. It's a 4S 3.0L V6.
After going back and forth with the dealer I finally decided to take my Pana to a repair shop and I'm glad I did. 3wks ago I suggested to Porsche dealership that it could be the timing chain and as always they down played it, as if there's no way it could be the timing chain. Well my mechanic removed valve covers while diagnosing the issue and found that the timing chain on driver side to be extremely loose. That explains the tapping noise when the engine is running, the chain slapping against the walls of the engine.
My advice to those who are having the same issue is to stop driving your car and get a full dianostic.
Finally

I know what this is exactly! Its carbon build up on the back of your valves..... PIck up a bottle of CRC intake valve cleaner... Look for my post on here, it shows you exactly what to do.... I guarantee you it is that.... as well as your Air oil seperator
My 2014 Panamera 4S 3.0 V6 does the same thing. I was told yesterday that it was probably the intake valves having carbon build up on them and suggested that I clean them with CRC valve cleaner.
Hi.The sound comes from a broken flap in the intake manifold. I had the same problem. You can check it with your hand in the intake manifold. It is flapping
I have already swapped my intake manifold. The sound was completely gone.
It also got louder when accelerating. I removed the throttle valve and moved all the valves individually by hand. One was loose. 5 mm movement. It's unbelievable that it made such a noise.
