I don't know that I'd say that $67 is expensive if it's legal in 50 States and removes the need to drill.

$82 with shipping, pokingaround. nevertheless, in comparison to the no cost/sunk cost metal plate i have sitting in my garage, this sticker ain't cheap.

Agreed! US Millworks tow hook mount . 360 degree swivel for nice angle mounting to match bumper contour.

I'm usually not in the business of spending other peoples money, but in this case IMO spending $82 to avoid permanently defacing (if not "damaging" in the usual sense of the word) a $100k+ car is a drop in the bucket. That said, they're definitely not legal in NY so are a non-starter for me.

Now this I like! I'd not heard of them before, but may put an order in... Anyone put one on a 971?

I had one of the Millworks mounts for my 997TT. I backed over it a couple times to scratch it up slightly, and stuck it under my seat. I got pulled over once for going through a small town kind of slow (who knows why?), and I just said "it fell off - but here it is". In MN, BTW, where it is mandatory unless your car is a 'collector'.

lmao, you drive a >$100k car and you're worried about a $50 fix it ticket (which is only $50 if you dont fix it, if you do it's like $10)? I've driven around in CA the past 15 years without front plates and only got a front plate ticket 2 times. Well worth the $100 to not put it on.

You must be new around here. I've read posts from folks who have a >$100k car and are wondering if they really need to drain the fluid on a 60k mile PDK service and save a hundred bucks or so.

Every Porsche I owned I never placed a plate on front. Too nice. Never been stopped (knock on wood). At least 12 years now. Tx.

You could try a magnetic setup like this https://rennlist.com/forums/991/1021...ate-mount.html
and keep it in the back. If you are pulled over just say you pulled it off for the car wash, airport etc. and forgot to put it back on. Drive around with it on in the summer for a day or so to get that authentic bug splatter/used look.

The real answer is Porsche should have molded a place in the bumper for a plate that doesn't look like a POS add on bracket....

Made my own license plate holder for about $25. Home depot, bought 2 pieces of strip stainless metal. Cut and drilled holes and mounted it. Came out great. No drilling into the front of the bumper and didn't use the tow hook option as I didn't like the offset placement of the license plate. If you have a drill and a hack saw and a few machine thread screws and nuts all able to be purchased at home depot. Took me about an hour to cut and drill the holes and 20 minutes or so to install it.

So how did you install it without drilling holes into the bumper??
