On closing the trunk -- on the 2014-2016 models, if you hold the truck raise button on the drivers door panel the hatch will close. You have to hold the button until the hatch fully closes (it's not auto close). I would expect the new model to behave in the same manner.

Thank you HP41!! Until your post I had no idea that you could close the rear hatch with the driver’s side door button. I read the owner’s manual cover-to-cover when I got the car and don’t recall this information being included. I’ve read other posts saying closing the hatch from the driver’s seat can’t be done for “safety reasons”. I tried your tip this morning and it worked like a charm! Thanks again!
Mine is a 2011.
It's just the tach needle that I see bouncing while at steady speed, the car does not change speed, and there is no jerking, lurching, or any other strange behavior.
I'll update after I have a dealer look at it.
I noticed the same thing with mine (a 2012) the first time Thursday. Had the cruise control on at the time, so don't know if that had something to do with it.
I assume nothing new with the issue in your case?
I noticed the same thing when I purchased my 'new to me' 2012 Panamera 4 last month. A service manager and two separate service tech's (from different Porsche dealers) all have said that it is normal. Interested to hear if you have learned otherwise.
I just noticed it yesterday on my 2010 PTT. Cruise control, steady state, bounces only ever so slightly. At first I thought my eyes were playing tricks... but I'm not giving it any 2nd thoughts. It has 85k miles on it and drives fine - not going to make an issue out of nothing. If it was serious would have already manifested itself. So stop panicking and enjoy the car
I have the same problem. 2011 Panamera Base. I changed the spark plugs, AOS, a cracked vent hose, cleaned the valves and still have the same problem. At this point I am just going to assume its normal.
What about staying on topic of this thread? Anyone else experience tach needle flutter when car is on?
- If you do, is it at idle only?
- Is it while driving?
- How much flutter do you see?
These will help the OP and others, remainder of items are for different threads (many up and discussed already).
As far as my 2007 cayman s goes....rpms surge a bit when in automatic mode...usually about 2000 rpms, usually in 4th or 5th and only when residential area slower speeds, not really getting on the throttle...mine does not do it in manual mode, going thru the gears
I get flutter on idle and while driving but the flutter during idle is inconsistent, sometimes its there and sometimes its not. I usually get anywhere between 50-75 RPM of flutter.
Mine turned out to be the torque converter slipping a bit. Apparently they can glaze over. First did the valve body rebuild and didn’t totally cure it but the torque converter did the trick...hope this helps

IF you have a 971, there is a software update to the fuel control module (or something along those lines) regarding oil pressure at low RPMs. My car was sputtering at IDLE and low RPMs on occasion and it was corrected.
