Great looking cars here keep them coming.
Question about oil changes on a C7 Grandsport. I'm at 490 miles and looks like i'm required by the manual to get the initial oil change at 500 miles. It came with a couple free service but I really rather not wait a week to get into the dealer. I have a local quick shop up the road that handles my 997 oil changes no problem for 20 bucks (I bring in the oil). Is there any reason why the GS would be too complicated for a small shop?
Also what oil is best for this car?

There is some good information on the Corvette C7 forum. Oil Mobil 1 or equivalent, check the front/rear alignment and rear diff oil.
Here's a relevant thread about doing it yourself:

If you do take it to an independent shop later, remind them that it's a dry sump oil system and there are two drain plugs. Both must be used or you won't get all of the oil out. Further they need to add the new oil slowly.
I always use the recommended Mobil 1; 5W-30 for street use and 15W-50 for track use in my Z06. It's cheap at Wally World. Since you're in FL you can run the later probably for 9 months of the year if you wanted so as to reduce oil changes if you track the car.

Not a GS but a Z06, Z07, M7 - in with the Admiral Blue, and out with racing yellow. For a high performance car that can be had for less than $100,000 it is a no brainer - 650 lb. ft. of torque at 3000 rpm, and 650 hp at 6000 rpm. It is soooooo much fun. Every time you depress the throttle, it's like taking a hit off of laughing gas....well maybe. FI is a must at 5200 ft. above sea level. What a fantastic equalizer. Hope you enjoy.

Thanks, the grey calipers were an option. I lucked out and bought my car off a showroom floor. The mngr who optioned the Z, had great taste, and had I specified build options I could not have done any better. The problem for the dealer was that none of the sales staff knew anything about the car so it sat in the showroom for 6 months. They are essentially a GM truck dealer. Their loss was my gain. They have 2 others that are there for the plucking.
