What do you think of the 2018 Camero ZL1 1LE

That thing should be a blast.

I spent the last 2 days at Thunderhill in my '15 GT3. There was a ZL1 and a couple of GT350s. The ZL1 was obviously fast in the straights but seemed less agile in the turns. Def less agile than the GT3 but even less so than the GT350. I also found surprising that neither the ZL1 nor the GT350 could pull away form me on the front straight.
Was a blast following them. I'm sure either would be a blast at a fraction of the cost of the GT3. I've considered downgrading (ha) to a GT350 just for the cost savings and having a better feeling of "beating" on the car at the track. I'm not gentle on the GT3.

Reviews on the ZL1 have been very positive so far. It's on my radar screen as a possible cheap option if I can't get a GT3.

Not according to Randy Pobst. IIRC, he commented in his review that the ZL1 outperforms the GT350 on track. He loved the ZL1 on track.

I also just like the look of the GT350 better. The Camaro visibility is pretty poor (from sitting in it at the auto show) and the car looks huge. I know, in actuality it may be no different size wise than the GT350.
As an aside - I was surprised how similar a Z06 and ZL1 sound hammering down the track.

So the new "Track" Camero is coming out and my local Chevrolet dealer had an allocation for one so I put a refundable deposit down on it and put an order in for one, but I have 8 weeks to decide if I even want it.
The car seems pretty sweet though, 335/19s Rear, 305/19 Front, 6.2L V8 Super Charged 650HP/650-LB-FT, DSSV shocks, Adujustable Height and Camber, Improved Aero with CF Wing, and a few other cool track options.
I currently track my 16 GT3RS, but was thinking of getting something a bit less expensive to play with when I don't want to beat up on my RS.
Dealer said they won't charge me over sticker so I am really considering it, but wanted to get your opinions as well.

Also note the above posted is a very flattering photo of the ZL1, I was parked next to one for 6 hours last weekend at a carshow, looks like an SS with a body kit...ugly.

A lot of great points here which is why I have not mentally said yes to the purchase yet.
I also agree the Mustang looks a bit nicer, but the interior of the mustang really bores me and at the end of the day that is what you see when you are driving it.
The interior of the Camero is pretty nice with Alcantara, Carbon Fiber, and the Recaro buckets.
As far as visibility, I thought the same thing when I sat in one until i took a SS on a test drive and it really did not bother me.
The other thing that I like is that it has 19s with fat tires so I can put some Hoosiers R7s on it and I am sure that will help big time with overall traction.

The dealer couldn't even quote me a price because there was no price listed when we put the order together.
Also along with driver differences, the Camaro has suspension/camber changes that can be made easily (so they say), track side so you can try different setups for different tracks and be able to go back to complete stock for the drive home, even though I would still trailer it.
