Anyone own a newer Corvette? 2015-2017

@ejdoherty911: Seems like you picked up on all of the things that keep me away from a Vette.
@RngTrtl: I would buy a 996TT over a late-model Vette any day. I'd probably take the 996TT over a n/a 997.2 at this point, and I'm the owner of a 997.1.

As much as we all respect Corvette for it's legacy, there are not many cars in the world that can bring out a smile like the experience of driving a Porsche. I live in muscle car country, and have owned many, but nothing can wake up the endorphins like the 911. Period! ((drops mic))

i have a c7 z06... i would not replace a 997 or 991 gt3 with it but for $100K it is a lot of performance and now quite a good package (where the c6 had an awful interior)
it is a bold and brash and still has inferior build quality but its performance envelope is on par if not better than the best porsches...it has overheating problems in very hot weather on track if driven very hard but for most the performance envelope is simply staggering, and previously unimaginable at the price point... it is not as precise an instrument nor as graceful as a modern 911 but driven in anger by a skilled driver it is something to behold
the car, as u would expect, is pitched to a somewhat different audience than an upper echelon porsche sports car buyer, but the car (and GM's efforts in creating it) needs to be noted and respected
dealerships are a real issue, even here in norcal i have had to look hard for one to do proper service to mine -- looks like the buying experience turned you off, op -- that is too bad, really no excuse for that...
