17 ZL1 Camaro arrives with 640+HP with a supercharger equals = one lap wonder!
Blowers have NO place on a track car if that track is NOT 1/4 mile in length!
The older, now classic, Mustangs always moved me. The styling over the last 15 years or so has never interested me. They do fill a nice gap for their price level which is good for Ford and America. I hope the car lives up to the hype but I would opt for the Vette which may not be too far off in pricing
I also love the 60s Mustang look. But the sound of that new flat crank engine just makes my hair stand. If they hold up and disguise the weight I will give it a go.

I drove the Stringray, really enjoyed it - one thing that had me wanting though - the engine. Lacked the snappy response coupled with the 6500 rpm redline was nothing to be excited about. I opted for the GT350.

Durability of these Ford race engines is why I choose to track them over my 997. Ford Racing's motors have a forged bottom end that can typically handle hours on hours of track time. Boss 302's always drive home after track events. The GT350 gets a good amount of cooling in the track option.
Also with the 5 year warranty - Ford honors track use. I tested this as I broke my transmission one session with a bad shift - Ford replaced my flywheel and clutch free of charge under warranty the following Monday.
I've watched a few videos on them now. Wow! This is the first mustang in a long time that I can honestly say I dig. They sound incredible.. Love the idea of carbon fiber rims on the R. That would be a 50k option on a gt3.
At its price point the GT350 appears to be a pretty good buy. Consider you can buy a GT350 for the cost of replacing the hood and two fenders on a 991 RS.

I think it depends on the implementation. I had a Jag XFR, which has a supercharged V8. Went to Jag R Academy track school. Ran the cars hard on the track all day and never had any overheating, heat soak or other problems. Unless the Chevy engineers cut their thermodynamics classes, I think the ZL1 is likely to be fine running regular length track sessions.
As for a GT350, I kinda want one, but I'm not paying the huge ADMs the dealers want for them right now.
