Only ones I have seen go have been high race hour motors, Aaron Pfadt had over a 120 race hours on a stock LS7 and those were Aaron Pfadt race hours
and he is very fast, he knew it was on bowered time but the replacement is cheap, which has to account for some of the run em till they blow attitude.

Don't have all the answers but yes oiling. The C6 T1 race cars running LS3 were running over 300 degrees oil temp they were finally given dry sump but still blew motors. Wanna 911 knows Chris Engle I believe and be may have more info. Early C6ZO6 dry sump wasn't adequate and I believe they changed it in 08. Also ZO6 are having a random issue in the head with Valve problems

’07 Z51’s with 20K miles can be bought for $30K or less. If they hold up on track, that seems like a hell of a nice track beater for less than the cost of a major engine rebuild on a GT3: nearly 450HP with nothing but an exhaust and a tune, tons of torque, relatively low weight and nice weight distribution, and a genuinely nice-looking shape (MUCH more appealing to my eye than the new C7).
I like my GT3 too much to turn it into a true track *****, but I’d have zero qualms about gutting and caging a $30K Vette, adding a big tacky wing and tracking the hell out of it. But not if it’s going to grenade motors on a regular basis. Beyond the content of the Z51 package elements, what does an LS3 Vette need to make it track worthy and reliable enough to get 2-3 years out of it before it blows up?

There are lots of posts on Corvette forums about Z06 motors having catastrophic engine failures due to valve train parts coming loose and getting sucked into the engine. I always wondered how the regular Vette (LS3 motor, non-Z06) did on track, and it’s disappointing to hear they overheat the oil. Is that also true for the LS3 cars with the Z51 package?

However, at 500, would take the American 500.
Yes, add aero and on same tires it should be between .2 GT3 and .2 RS fast. Run all day, race, all for 30k. Or buy a built, caged one already for mid-low 20's and add aero.

Agree, Porsche 450 > Corvette 450 when Porsche 450 is coupled with Mezger racing motor.

I forgot about a T 1 car.
Always find them for 30k with most of the upgrades you need Peter

Warranties are for pussies.
keep the 4.0 for cars and coffee or Beer and Tacos. Get a fast cheap disposable track car I mean you trailer anyway so what's the issue.
Vettes can run WC Pirelli takeoffs which are available for stupid cheap $$

Right, have we found a track junkies thats stepping in front of the 991GT3 bus 1st?
I'll have to get it delivered though, saves me at least one trip to the Chevy dealer...
Eddie's fast, but does not drive it enough to really test it hard enough, quick enough (Before the RS arrives).

This car turned out stupid fast and runs perfectly on 91 oct. makes a non stressed 510 rwhp with a big flat torque curve.
