New sump design, wow your post is making me want to go visit my local dealer. Better not tell the wife before I sneak out!

BAN HIM !!!

At least for the rest of today!

J/K

That 'vette looks like a pretty serious car. A lot of bang for the buck.

Have fun with her. Hope it's everything you're expecting.

The shocking thing is that the ZR1, Z06C carbon rotors are "only" about $1700 each. That give you an idea of how much markup Porsche is making?

Friend of mine has one. He replaced the OEM suspension and brakes and installed a set of Toyo R888's on that beast. On big racetracks (Spa Francorchamps being one) that thing is bloody fast! 997 GT3-RS mk2 fast in laptimes. Very underrated car.

The only downside for me (except the ridiculous taxes in Belgium for this one) are the seats. They are really not suited for hard cornering.

Congrats!

It looks like they've stepped up their game a little with the interior. The stitching looks much better but the plastic pieces and navigation still looks awful

But this is an act of war.

I will shorty change his title to something more appropriate.

Do you have a mullet, moustache, and wifebeater shirt on to match?

Kidding aside, mean looking car. Let us know how it is on the track.

lol

Joke aside I am really excited about this purchase. The brawny American cage fighter slip on an Italian design suit ... but you can still see a hint of skull tatoo under the shirt. It's hard to beat 0% 60 months finance and thousands below invoice. It's like having the cake and not get fat. 911slow ... did I lost all possible chance of a life time membership?

The more I look at the car the more I pick up subtle goodies such as the fancy carbon fiber hood and the moster 7.0L V8 just scream

Yes, we all know the only thing the Z06 seats are good for is watching TV in your living room. I was sliding aound on the milk crate taking a corner at 15 mph. My daughter had the same sentiment lol. Already started shopping for better seats

PM me if you want to know what steel units he is using and I will get the specs and info for you.

Cheers!

Thanks Doug. I am going to try out the CC rotors first and see if they made any improvement since theya re already paid for. Repalcement cost is super cheap - $1300 per

The dry sump was the reason I ended up getting rid of my Z06 -- but I still miss that visceral feel when hitting the throttle!!!
Yup, dry sump issue addressed. Initally I was going to wait for C7 but decided to get this well sorted Z06 because after 6 years most bugs are worked out. Winning 24H Le mans says alot of the vette design. It will take 3-4 years for Chevy to work out all the bugs when C7 is released.

How did you miss my Chevy tatto on my 20" bicep?

It's $1300 each ... even better

lol

Thanks Phil. It's funny how serious some people take when it comes to car brand. Surfing the corvette forums before buying the car you see tons of P-car bashing which is also true for M3 forums. Not much of that in the Porsche forum thank goodness.

Yes, seat mod is job number one

Yes, they hit a home run (almost) with this carbon edition. It's funny that when I pick up the car last night there are several other vette variations at the dealer. Everyone of them look super cheap with chrome wheel and some awful plastic pieces. Any 911 will look horrible if you put the same crap on it. This carbon edition address most of the issue ....

lol ... no

Joke aside I been looking hard for an excuse to buy American for years and Chevy just gave it to me. I have not bought an American car - EVER - due to it's poor quality and lack luster design. I hope the next 10 years we can turn that around. Just need to stay humble and stop the I am better than everyone mentality and build a great quality car we can all be proud of

Yes, stay tune for full report in couple months. Seats and safety equipment first
