Has any heard of, or dealt with, Blair Talbot in Dover, NH? A buddy of mine who just moved up to that area heard of him and is thinking of taking his car there.
Thanks.
Thanks.

He is willing to travel but he heard of this shop in Dover which is close to him and he is trying to find out about it. He is not very computer savvy and I am just trying to help him out. I figured with all the well healed folks in that area and the number of Porsches I have seen up there, some of them had to belong t this forum and may have heard about that shop.

Blair is good. my dad has taken several cars there over the years and i took my 996 tt there last year. both Blair and Alex are sharp, thorough and know what they're doing.
East Coast Automotive in Hampton is another option. I have no problem with Blair but Mark has taken car of my other cars (Audis) for the last 10 years and knows Porsches well too.
i think it ultimately comes down to what you buddy wants done, and what he drives. this is a generalization but:
older 911 and/or regular maintenance and repairs: Blair
newer 911 and/or performance upgrades, etc: East Coast
both deal with all ages and can handle either maintenance/repairs and performance, but Blair had much older cars in his shop when i was there and EC tends to have newer stuff. hope that helps

I have been to Blair's shop with both of my air cooled 911's. Very thorough, knowledgeable and careful with the cars he cares for. I believe he has also been involved or is involved in Porsche racing, so understands the desire to performance tune our cars. The shop is very large and - best of all - the cars stay indoors while being worked on. Nothing left outside for any reason. I will be taking my 996 Turbo to him this coming spring. Hope that helps. Steve

I'm also in MA, but western. Highly recommend Musante Motorsports in S Windsor CT. Looks like 90 min freeway drive though. Been using them for a few years - great shop, solid work. Good luck.

IMHO, Musante is great as long as you're dealing with Chris directly. He hired a shop supervisor some years back who advised service on my car without knowing it's history (IMS bearing which had already been done). I think to drum up business to justify his new position. Just my thoughts but I'm usually pretty good recognizing this kinda stuff.
